Default HIDs Vs. silverstars

I want to upgrade my stock bulbs and i was wondering whether I should spend the money and get an HID kit, or just get some silverstars or even the luminics bulbs they just started selling. I have heard that only HIDs will give you the truly blueish tint that doesn't hurt other drivers' eyes. Has any body seen both installed or have any of these installed?

HID's are exspensive and dont give the proper lighting they should in our housing as it wasnt made for HID bulds. I am very happy with my silverstars, just a bit brighter white light.

ANd blue headlights are for honda's not fords.

ok thanks, i will probably just get silverstars, those aren't blue right? I don't want blue headlights i just remember reading something where they said some companies tint the glass blue and that is supposed to be bad because then not as much light gets through or something. It just said HID's had a tint of natural blue in them, or something.

I have silverstars, and honestly, they improve, but I still want the HID kit. The silverstars just dont put out enough light for me to be happy.

i have HID's and i don't get any complaints on them being to bright or out of aim. They are aimed on the road as if they were stock bulbs. I think the only people who complain about HID's are the people who want them but can't afford them.

Agreed hids are the best - my 12000ks are sweet purple - but can spmebody tell me how to aim these lights - they look non-adjustable to me.

I absolutely love my HIDs too, completely worth what i paid. I got mine for $235 on Ebay and i have no complaints about them at all. I also never get any complaints by people driving in front of me or towards me.

if you want to spend the money on HID, go ahead and do it. if your on a budget and you want headlights brighter than stock get silverstars for your headlights and fog lights. I've had mine for the better part of three years with no problems. they dont give off any blue tint what so ever and they are way brighter than standard halogen bulbs. And one more thing, why would someone go throught the trouble and expense of HID and put amber bulbs in for fog lights??? It looks half ***....

here are my silverstars. They are a little more bluish/clearish than the pic. But you can tell a difference with the factory fog lights. They do give a brighter light than factory.

On my old car I had those bright aftermarket headlights but they weren't silverstars, people always flashed their brights at me even when I didn't have my brights on, it used to bug the hell out of me. That's one reason i wanted to get the HID's or at least a really good aftermarket brand like silverstars, but after seeing the pics I will probably just save the money and get HIDs. Thanks for the pics everyone posted to help me make my decision.

haha, nice...

back on subject, i have hids and would never go back to regular bulbs. i have tried silverstars and piaa bulbs, (piaa's cost over $100 for the good bulbs and are supposed to be the best on the market) but all they really did was change the color of the light it wasnt really brighter. but with hids it really is a hell of a lot brighter and if you aim them right they dont blind other drivers. i've had them for maybe 4 months and have yet to have anybody flash their headlights at me.
