Header questions

What are the differences between shorty, equal and full length headers. Do they all just bolt onto the car? or will there be any extra mods neccesary in order to put them in

They all suck to install on our cars.

Shorties make a little power
equal legth shorties make a little more
long tubes make the most.

I dropped my K member and then dropped the engine 3-4 inches and it still sucked hard. Shorties should bolt right up to your stock exhaust. Long tubes require their own x pipe and 02 extenders. Mine hit the floor pan and made all sorts of noise. I had to put it up on a lift and pry them down. They still leak a little and the steering shaft rubs. I am seriously thinking of taking them off and selling them. I might try some mid lengths instead.

Those are supposed to be well made. I have Jet hot (hooker knock off's) They don't fit worth sh#t. I wanted them because you don't have to remove them to drop the tranny. Live and learn.

well my SLP LTs have been on for a year and still look and sound great. I know Hooker and Kooks are suppose to be awesome, but I love these SLPs

I had to do the same thing you did for my bbk shorties. people claim you could get em on with kmember intact but I found no possible way for them to go in like that.

I have a stock bassani uncatted x-pipe from saleen. What would be the best application. would the shorties bolt onto that?

if you want ot keep the saleen mid pipe then you have ot run short tube headers. If you want to run long tubes you have to run a shorty mid pipe because the headers are very long and need more room thus the shorty mid pipe. Shorties give a small gain while long tubes give more power. Me its not worth it to do either one, but if i was gonna do it i would do shorties cause i would never have ot mess with them once they are on and i wont have to mess with them to pull my tranny.

well that makes me feel better:punk:
