I don't have the hood shaker system, but CDC has detailed instructions that might help you out.

Hey no problem. The mach shaker system is pretty sweet, let me know if you end up putting it in.

hey man, if I were you, I would not choose to have the CDC Shaker. got to www.karkraft.com It is better made for the GT.

CDC design is known for poping off while driving. NO JOKE

Check out modulardepot.com and forums.stangnet.net they too will say the same thing.

Also, I have seen in person how they can pop off. I am getting ready to convert my GT. I have the shaker system on order and I am using a mach1 hood and getting it painted. Unless you love the current hood that you have now and also know a professional that will cut your hood, then just buy a mach1 hood.

Hope this info gets to you in time.

But you dont have to take my word for it, just research research research.

Good luck, post some pics when your done. :laughing7

Hey Stevoneo, thanks for the advice, big help. Where did you get your Mach 1 hood? and how much did it cost? If you do not mind me asking. That’s what I wanted to do but I can’t find one. Any info you can give my would be a big help.

Ok, here you go...

I am getting my Mach1 Hood from Ford. The average retail price is about 450-500. This is in the Ford primed ready to paint state.

I have not seen anyone at wholesale price selling the hood so you just might be stuck with Ford.

A good point to this is that if you have factory paint on your car you can get it painted by ford for cheap to match you car color. Doesnt cost as much because the hood is perfect graded sanded and primed to go.

The hood part number that you will need is

3R3Z-16612-BA

Ther ya go.

Also KarKraft uses the original Mach1 shaker, that is why it is dependable and wont pop off.

If you have any more questions, dont hesitate to ask. I have done a lot of research for this.

I got the shaker/hood with all of the plumbing for $600. I had to fabricate a custom bracket but it turned out quite nicely. There are pictures on my cardomain page

Does any 1 know how much (if any) more horse power will the shaker hood give you rather that a cold air intake system. I like the shaker system idea but I like the look of a cowel hood.

A shaker will give you very little if any performance gains. Just mostly looks. But it sure does look cool.

I saw someone was selling a carbon fiber mach 1 hood in MM&FF ads. That would be cool to have the center section carbon fiber and then paint the outsides to match your car.

dont rely on HP with the ram air, it is more to do with looks than HP. you can gain maybe 4-9 more HP with the ram air than CAI. If you get the steeda mass air kit with the ram air, than there is better gains.

I highly doubt you would gain 2whp from stock, let alone 4-9 more than a CAI.
