Not pointing at anyone but so far my short experience here is that one or so moderators is negative about everything. I though this place is here to help people not put down what questions they ask or when they respond to some one elses post. not being mean but is some of the moderators young kids or something. just my 2 cents but if i was a moderator, i would be here to help not put everyone or thing down. Thank you.

i dont find any moderators negative they all are vary help full.

The mods are incredibly helpful when someone asks a new or unique question, but the information you were requesting is already ALL OVER the site.

Don't try to stir things up with the mods, they are cool.

some questions get very old (Exhaust). There are tons of threads on here that deal with just about anything that you could think of. Plus you got an answer you basically just asked if you need a tune after installing and you got an answer that said yes get a tune. A lot of people would just post a reply saying "Search". No one answered about the 05+ because the majority here are the new edge stangs.

There's a "Catch 22" for this issue to consider as well. We get alot of new people, first time mustang owners, internet surfers and such. They get excited about the possibility of modding their car for the first time and want instant answers to all and every one of their questions without taking the time to search for the answers first. Stay on here long enough, and you'll see the same exhaust/suspension/first mod/etc question asked on a daily basis. Me personally, I skip over and ignore them. The mods here for the most part don't ignore them, they'll either answer the question or at least reply and point them in the right direction so they can find the answer.

The "Catch 22" is we as a Board "community" get blasted for ignoring repetative newb questions, appearing as though we're unsympathetic and not helpful, or we or the mods get blasted for answering with "use search function" as a reply and appear as unsympathetic and not helpful.

Sorry if 03 hurt your feelings or seemed rude but them's the breaks bud. We have to moderate every thread in every forum every day to make sure you guys aren't inundated with pr0n spam and ricers looking to start a fight.

First, let me reiterate that the search feature is your friend. So is the phone. Once you've searched and learned as much as you can, then call companies (plural... more than one is required to avoid retarded-info-syndrome which any single shop is capable of). There is no easy way to give out all the answers we have to give out daily.

Let me fill you in on the 05+ stangs... if you fart in the car, chances are you'll need to get the tune checked. Period. This means if you change anything that changes how much air comes out the hot side, then you'll definitely want to get your butt to a chassis dyno and do a couple runs with the AF being logged. If you don't check those things under controlled conditions (such as a dyno) then you'll be buying new engines before you can worry about much else.

I'm glad you posted this in a responsible way and in the proper place. You'll probably do well here. I am a moderator and I do help but I will not, and none of my counterparts will, allow you to skate around the labor of love that is learning simply to provide concise answers to questions that require 24 volumes and a master index to even begin to explain. To be blunt, we want you to learn so we'll be a little pushy that you make an effort to do so.

that... and when we do answer those simple questions we are all biased towards what we have on our cars. so if we all answer with different set-ups the OP ends up more confused and will probably go down the street with a razor blade on their wrists

Some of us with more experience in various combos can be more helpful to the average joe but Stanger is 100% right. Most people on pretty much every board know their car and their combo which won't help the n00b at all. I've had literally dozens of suspension configurations on my cars and I've set up a lot of other cars so I offer a little expertise there. Some others have more engine internals experience and can help there. The point is you kinda have to know who you're getting your info from and they have to know who they're giving it to in order for it to be useful to anyone.

We alos need to be patient for a new members. Forums and mustangs are new things for some people and sometimes they want to ask questions to be feel involved.

Generally speaking, I still consider myself a noob around here. And I have found the guys to be pretty decent across the boards (pun intended). Especially the mods. I have been helped by more than a few when I asked a stupid question. Even got chastised once for trying to break up a fight (with all 40 of my posts at the time!). But I knew he was poking fun at me, and was cool with that. I think we have a good system and guys like Mach, R3, Water, Venom and Stanger, and lots more, help keep it that way.

i am a noob i think ppl on here have been very helpfull i understand the need for instant questions im sure if i looked hard enough for the answers to the quetions i had asked id find them but i really dont feel like reading 100 threads to find the exact answer i was lookin for askin what part to use i think is dumb even though i did ask i really found out real quick that no one could agree what part is best then i thouht about it im a electrician and if some ppl ask me what kinda equipment to use id tell them square D but some other electrician would swear on cutler hammer

Cutler Hammer is shit. Square D isn't bad but i usually go with Allen Bradley.

Best thing to do is not to answer the question if you are sick and tired of answering the same questions 100s times. There is a disclaimer in the welcome section that asks you to do research but it maybe in the small print ;).


We should be patient with new members as we want our fourm to grow and not shrink. Theres different flavors of Mods and one Mod may be vanilla why the others might taste like $hit. I ask that everyone use Kyjelly on new members to break them in :omghi2u:. Also use smilies as sometimes you cant sense if you kidding or not in text.
