2001 gt dyno 265hp/307tq

my first post here heh.

I will be posting the graph as soon as the dyno guy sends it to me he has some printing issues. But the car put down 265whp and 307wtq  i was very surprised and this is on a dyno that usually shows less compared to others.

The mods are: C&l intake, 75 mm TB, C&l plenum, O/R x pipe/ UD pulleys, oh and a good tuner.

welcome!
post up some pics and that graph!
congrats!

hmmm, something sounds fishy. Modular Powerhouse tuned my car, and I have all but underdrives. Tim Barth himself dyno tuned my car and my best pull was 245HP and 288 TQ.

either you are lean as a mofo, or Im going to have to get some U/D pulles.

stang01 03-12-2008 03:50 PM

i dont really know...it may be a factory freak cause it sure seems like it bone stock miles per hour in the 1/4 was 102 with intake it hit 103

heres a video of the dyno not clear enough to read tho

zigzagg321 03-12-2008 04:47 PM

lucky you. I was told by Tim that mine was strong for what mods I had. I think Im gonna get some U/D's now anyway.

blownstang 03-13-2008 09:07 PM

Must be a super factory freak! Mine put down 266/300 SAE and 271/303 STD with full bolt ons. I'm trapping 102 mph with a race weight of 3525lbs.

stangcharger 03-14-2008 07:53 AM

Great numbers man for those mods.

It also could be the time of year. I dyno best in febuary or sound then. not to humid and cool outside.

but yes on a side not 103mph is quite a bit more then i have seen stock ones trap. or even lightly modded.

congratz.

What was your 60 ft. and 1/4 time when you hit 103? Is the graph STD or SAE?

I dont know if it was STD or SAE 1/4 time was 14.2 with 2.2 60 ft.

White04GT 03-14-2008 09:57 AM

so let's just say they were STD. SAE would put you around 260rwhp and 302rwtq still good for the mods you have. Get some long tubes and you should pick up another 10-15rwhp.

stang01 03-14-2008 10:05 AM

ooooooo that sounds tempting... couple of questions about long tubes i have a x pipe, are there any that would fit them?? or they just bold right in?

White04GT 03-14-2008 10:08 AM

depends what kind of x pipe you have. I had a bassani o/r x pipe and it had clamps so when I got my headers I could remove the extra pipeing and have the headers fit.

stang01 03-14-2008 10:11 AM

the brand is MAC

White04GT 03-14-2008 10:53 AM

You are going to have to purchase a mac shorty h pipe. Oh well mac products are cheap so there is really no loss there.

stang01 03-14-2008 08:54 PM

just asked the dyno guy he said its SAE

You guys with Long-tubes... Long-tubes on a car with just bolt-ons will lower your peak torque numbers. not saying it wont make more elsewhere in the range but they will lower your peak torque. Look at it this way. TQ is resistance thats why a 4v head will make a lot more HP but you can make more TQ with a 2V.

ok but would it increase hp?

Mostly definitely will increase HP. I was just commenting on the fact about the TQ numbers being so different. They really wont increase HP that much unless you have cams or a power adder. They stock manifolds actually flow really well. case in point, Hellion uses stock manifolds with the turbo systems.

Lol same here.. his numbers are kicking my cars ass... my best pull was a 256RWHP and 259 ft/lbs of torque and i have stage 1 cams, 75mm intake plenum, cold air intake, magnaflow catback, catted x pipe and flowmaster 40's

First of all, holy dead thread revival... Secondly, dynoes lie. There are so many variables that can go into a dyno reading it's insane, how tight are the straps, what's the humidity, temp. etc.

My car, (Dave's "zigzagg321" old car) most recently made 260/293 with an ambient air temp. of 94* & 37% humidity on a dynojet with the timing bumped down for the Nitrous runs to follow. Before that on a separate dyno it showed 266/340 ambient temp of 80* @ 20% humidity. While the HP numbers are similar, the tq is off a full 47'lbs.

Averaging it out and taking into consideration my timing changes, I'd say with the timing & temp equal it will probably make somewhere between 265-270whp and 300-305'lbs rwtq.
