evo's
have any of you guys with juice or a S/C beat one of those damb evo's? there is a guy around here with an 04 evo. If I get juice, say 75 to 100 shot would I keep up with the rice patty? :wallbash:
With a 75 shot and your current mods you should pull him easily from a roll, however from a stop you need to be a good driver.
I can get some pretty good reaction times at the track, but I know those things get a good jump off the line.
its not the reaction time its the 60' he is talking about with awd all you gotta do it hit the limiter and dump it and they go. with some spray agains a mild or stock one you should take it.
You are exactly right. That's the advantage they have off the line is that awd.
Yes those little fockers can move from a stop..
i dont see those around here in dover. with a 100 shot you will have a lot more low end torque.
most people who have evo's don't get killer 60' times. i get 1.80 on street tires and 1.70 on drag radials in my stang. Most evo's only get 1.90. I have ran one and he went a 13.40 @ 107 with a 1.98 60'. If you just dump the clutch on a evo you will not get a killer time. Those things make mph so on a roll on they are a beast. just my 2cents
thanks for all the info on those evo's

Those sucker are fast. I have a client with one. I have not driven it yet, but I will get a chance to. He claims they are 12.9, but I have not heard much about them.
You won't see many of these things on the road. $30+ is a lot of money and they are limited production....about like Cobras I guess. I would think if it is a low 13 second car out of the box, a 1999-2004 GT would need some help. 75 - 100 shot should do it depending on driver and other mods. But don't worry about spanking that guy, he wil only claim you cheated and can always spray himself. Just be glad to know that in a few years the EVO will be a thing of the past and Mistu will have moved on to another platform we can worry about. |
I know mitsubishi's are garbage anyways. If I were a ricer guy(which god know's I am not!) Id rather own an sti any day over those other grocery getters :dots:
gotta love evo's beoing able to launch at like 7k with the all wheel drive
yeah yeah yeah...J/K :wrongforu
yeah mst of them deffinatly cant launch for poop. we did get y rich freinds brother stock evo to 60' a 1.73 I it was and it ran a 13.6 i cant remember the mph but it was all traction. they are ok but i dont know how many of those 6-7k dumps it could handle.
procvs or wutever... sorry i dont remeber - no offense..but with 511 torque... your 1/5 time seems very slow...was that before the shot?
there not as fast as people think, I beat one a few months back, pulled about 2 lenghts on him up to 110(ran out of gear) it was from about a 20 roll. It was stock with just a exhaust. It probably would of beat me from a stop(damn all wheel drive)

id rather race one from a dig, turbo lag's a bitch
If it's a stock evo, you should be able to get him from a roll no problem without the shot, along with from a dead stop if you can launch good without spinning much. I beat an evo VIII last weekend from a 15mph roll twice very badly, then raced him this past Friday for $50 from a dig and took his money beating him by 4 car's...i had to run him down in 2nd tho since i spun my @ss off coming out the hole on the kit.

Evo's aren't squat...i took one on a rollat about 25 going on to the highway and went all the way to 150 mph and i had to wait a couple times for him to catch up :loser: ....we both got off the highway and stopped at the light and i informed him i had something that whistled too :innocent:
I love ricer kill stories :punk:
Yea he didn't say anything when i said i had somethin that whistled too, he just rolled up his window...

Get an SLP LM CB and rev on him before the race. Throws his MAF(stock) into a tizzy and the engine dies... Kinda like you rev on him, his engine faints. Funny as all get out... and after that he/she doesn't want to race...
Whats all this hype about the EVO? I beat one when I was STOCK! Im sure he was a poor driver but he didnt miss a gear and I just pulled on him! The thing still had the temporary tag on it so it was bone stock.
I did race one spraying my 100 shot and it was a hard beating on the EVO. Made him feel like a girl! I say a 75 shot is enough to take on a bolt on evo with stock turbo. :bash: |
idk i just love the styling of them

03 and 04 evo VIII's are the slowest
05's are about 2-3 tenths in the 1/8 faster 06 evo IX is the fastest to date, by a long shot (high 12's stock) Stock evos, esp 03 and 04's are kinda lacking and undertuned from the factory but they respond very well to basic mods. Allthough the car can easily pull a 1.8 or less 60ft, if the driver can't launch, it's over. So if your opponent is stock and/or can't launch or shift, you will have the greater chance of winning, but it depends on your driving too. |
