Time slip

Wow
The temp. was 90 and it was hot. the car was just as I drive it, tire pressure and all. I shifted at 5500 and I came off the tree about 2500. And any more would have been totally smoke.Perfact shifts and it still ran slower than I figured. What do you think? I hook better on the street... :(
r/t .984
60 2.173
330 6.127
1/8 9.365
MPH 76.18
1000 12.126
1/4 14.445
MPH 97.10

spike_africa 08-14-2005 09:03 AM

where do you live? and any radial tire will always hook better on the street as its a ruff surface not smooth like the drag strip. but that 60' still isnt to bad at all. But you mph is really low 97 is slower than i traped in the summer heat when my car was stock. is it running well? plugs good fuel filter clean etc...

Blue02GT 08-14-2005 12:35 PM

That could correct down near 14.0 due to hot and humid air. Practice feathering out the cluth and get your sixty foot time into the 1.90's. Then you should be able to run 13.70's in decent air.

Rochester ny. and i only have 10,000 miles on it. and it has a diablo sport tune and a new K&N filter. maby I should shift at a different rpm? Maby it is the 4.10 gears? All 5 runs were 96 to 98 mph.

Bruce:

What track are you running at up there? I know there is one called the NY Speedway outside of Batavia. I am thinking about bringing my car up there sometime soon.

I have about the same mods as you minus a tune and i ran a 14.1. I was disapointed at first because i heard i should be in the 13s with the 4.10s but the track temp was 126. FLorida humidity is brutal.

oh yeah the 4.10's i forgot you had gears, i guess that isnt ot far off normal then.

ModMotorRacer 08-15-2005 11:38 AM

You should be shifting right around 6000. 5500 is a short shift on a Mod Motor. Your mph will come up then also.

make sure your traction control is off, dont mean to sound like a smart arse but it makes a huge difference if you did not know this.

I hve a completely stock 03 with only Flowmasters and on a 120 degree track ran:
r/t - .756
60' - 2.2
330 - 6.2
1/8 9.5
mph - 75

and that was the only run I got to do with the traction control off, I didnt know this before hand and was running like 10.2 with it on, it makes you bog out in 2nd.

Also, get some 10.5's on the back of that thing...hehe

You are not being a smart ass, but I don't have it on my car. But I am always listening to you guys, and I learn.........

Well thats cool they dont put it on yours because Im really considering having it turned off completely if they can do that. Everytime I get in my car I turn it off just in case...lol.

you can get it turned off completely with a tune. I don't know if every tuner can do it, but when I got my SCT tune he asked me if I wanted it turned off. It's so much better with it turned off all the time. :D

You guys need dual stage rev limiters to get some better reaction times. I know you're not bracket racing, but there still is no excuse to be sleeping at the light.
