Ok probrably sounds like a dumb question, but In your opinions... When racing what is the best rpm to shift to get the most consistant power in each gear??? I have an 01 Gt Sometimes i bring the rpm's up to 5500 then shift and other times i shift at 5000 ? The car feels strong regardless of either rpm, but i want to try to get consitent times when running at the track? My best run has been 13.9 at 101 I have nothing done to my car other then a flowmaster exhaust.

when my car was closer to stock I use to shift at about 5600-5700. I use to shift at about 5300-5500 until I pulled my dyno sheet out and checked out the HP at different RPMs... I noticed that when I shifted that soon the RPMs were dropping down too low causing me to lose 50 hp that I would have to rebuild.. where if I shifted at 5600-5700, I stayed in the higher RPMs and didn't have to work to get that HP back.

with those mods shift at 5,500rpms you dont flow enough to go past that yet. full exhuast, and intake mods then you can shift that high.

I shift at 5600-5650 every time because I have teh shift light! HahAhAh!: They are great you should get one if you want to be more consistent like you said. Also if you dont already have a shifter then you should get one. They will reduce your E.T.s a little.......Also......."Bodykit" is a ricer term..... ![]()
