Default Beat by a Turbo Diesel...WTF!

OK I went to the Street Racing night at the Music City Motorplex for some fun on Saturday night. Its a crappy track but its fun because its where everyone goes to race on saturdays. Its actually an oval track thats used for stock car racing, but they use the straight part of the track for drag racing. Theres just a red and a green light. no times.

I was having a good time muching on some Mach 1's and Modded Lightnings. Then we came to the eliminations. I thought I was for sure going to be the fastest car in the domestic class. All there was were some old 5.0's, mach 1's, stockish LS'1s, and some trucks.

The first round I pulled up to a brand new F-350 Turbo Diesel. I know that some of them can be fast but this one had stock pipes on it! I was debating about whether I should even spray on him or not........ Then I saw how many people were watching so I figured Id put on a little show. I turned it on feeling sorry for the poor turbo diesel. I was just gonna give it an easy launch off the line So id get some traction and I wasnt worried about that truck beating me.

I saw the green light and I came off the line good but then it blew the tires away. With most cars this is not a problem because the other drivers suck and I usually pull in front anyways. But I looked for the truck and he was like 1 1/2 cars in front of me! That thing launched JUST like an EVO! I was like " oh **** I gotta catch up!" So I finally caught some traction and she pulled hard but damn that truck was pulling JUST as hard as I was! I caught up a little but by the end of that 1/8th mile track He had beat me by about 1 car. I was eliminated and I had to park my car.......:wallbash:

Thing had STOCK exhaust pipes on it. It looked like it was brand new and I couldnt talk to the driver about its mods.....That was one of the fastest trucks I have seen in awhile. It was crazy because I had just got done beating a modded lightning to like 120 on the interstate with 800psi of pressure.....

I know those things are quick, a friend of mine had a F-450 Turbo (loudest turbo whine I have ever heard too)...and I ran him before he sold it and only beat him by a couple of lengths. Being a 450 quad cab dually and weighing about 20 tons is probably the only reason I beat him!

lmao! Im sure that he had more than just a tune! LOL. And no they are not all that fast from the factory. They are slow......:ban:

Did you happen to read my mods. My car puts down 03 cobras and C5 Z06's. That turbo diesel was making some BIG power and NO it was not even close to stock.....

lol **** i misread the top part. I thought u said you went to some street racing thing and the evo part just threw it off even more. I do not hesitate to light street racing ricers on fire. BTW, your car doesnt need to be slow to act like a ricer.

It was a legal organized "street racing" night at the local track...... Even when I race legally I still get crap for it. How do I act like a ricer?

How much RWHP does your car put down N/A and with spray? Also what 1/4 times do you run N/A and with spray?? I know you spray like a ****, but I'm totally a N/A guy so those are the #'s & times are what are impressive to me...that's just me....curious that's all.

the new 6.0 powestrokes are nasty with just exhaust upgraded. We put 5" turbo-back on a friends with the Bullydog performance module...and it's nasty with a car being towed too! They gain at least 80hp and 100trq just from exhaust. BTW this is a Amirillo addition F-350 crewcab dually.

I got a few buddies who are into diesel trucks. A reprogrammer can add up to 125hp, so those trucks get pretty fast pretty quick.

I'm reading your mods and they are minimal. At best your putting down 240rwhp and 270rwtq N/A add a 100 shot on top of that so maybe 330rwhp and 430rwtq. Even with those generous numbers I find it hard to believe you "put down" Z06's and cobras.

Those things are freakin' fast. This last weekend I was going to some club and a turbo diesel pulled up next to me. I took off kind of hard (always do) and then heard that turbo spooling so I floored it. And he stayed right with me all the way through second gear! I started pulling on him about halfway through third, which is where we stopped (it's about 85 in my car). That was one of the fastest trucks I've ever seen. I give those guys mad props for getting a 10 ton dually to do that!

no diesel is gonna gain 80hp from a exhuast setup sorry. There power comes from more fuel and more boost.

LOL ive beaten 2 different C5 ZO6s. One of them was from a dig to about 70. The second one had headers and I pulled on him till I shut it down at round 145mph.....

Ive beaten a red 03 cobra convertable from a 40 roll. I have also beaten a black annerversary 03 cobra hardtop from a dig.....till about an 1/8th mile.

Your numbers are ridiculous. Im pulling on 03 cobras and im only making 330whp? :loser:

Also, the mods are minimal but effective.......what do you want?

I've seen the power gains myself in person on the dyno! It's insane on how much power they gain off simple things, And yes 80HP was gained off of the Bullydog performance 5" monster exhaust, We did it on a 2006 f-350. The boost wasnt messed with at all, untill after we put the control module on and the power went up ALOT more.

I understand that they can make big power with a few mods. But what you guys dont understand is that 80hp isnt all that much when your in a HUGE F-350 Dually. Itll be a very noticeable increase but it wouldnt be able to take my car with just 80 more horses. I can easily beat a stock turbo diesel without the nitrous. I could have beaten this one from a roll but it was from a dig and there was no traction. It did pull through 2nd gear but thats while it was spinning tire. He had duallys so im sure there was loads of traction for him.

First I let you on to a little secret. That NX 4.6L plate system your running w/100shot I got the same setup, so I know its capabilities. Secondly all you have listed to help power is a O/R X-pipe, catback and a cold air intake. If you have your car properly set for nitrous in the first place you would already be down on power N/A cause of the timming adjustments and the plugs. So my 240rwhp N/A & 270rwtq is a very generous number. Now as for nitrous numbers you have a 100shot lets say benefit of the doubt I give you the full 120 hp so 360rwhp and most likely you will pick up on average 150-160rwtq so 420-430rwtq. If you want to prove me wrong, put your car on the dyno but I already know the results. And as for the the Z06's & Cobras you beat they cant drive or they didnt know they were racing. :loser:

Jeredan2003.....you've never put your car on the dyno? How did you get your car tuned safely for the spray??? Still curious of what your N/A times and #'s are.

i just need to find a shop that charges a decent price for dyno runs. The one closest to me charges $95 bucks for 3 runs with NO A/F reading.....

It runs safely on the spray. I ran it for about a year with a screwed up A/F ratio because of the MAC CAI.:wallbash: When I had the MAC CAI the plugs would always show a lean condition. The plugs were getting white and hot. Now that the A/F ratio is fixed back to stock, the plugs are a nice black color from the fuel. I always shut the car down right after I spray it. I check the plugs all the time and they always look great after each pass. There is no sign of detonation on the plugs whatsoever and the A/F mixture is good. As long as you have no sign of detonation and your getting safe amounts of fuel, then itll be fine. Also I have all the safety stuff so that helps prevent any problems.

I want to get it tuned but alot of my money goes towards school.

MEAT my car kills C5 ZO6s no matter what driver you have if its a roll race. Come on man just give me at least SOME props for beating 2 of them! If im pulling from a 40 roll to 145 on a ZO6 dont you think I would be making more power than a stock C5 ZO6? They are making 405hp at the flywheel....

Also the driver was an older die hard corvette fan. He told me that he had a sprayed LT1 at one time so this guys been driving for awhile. He knew how to drive stop giving me all that RICER crap about "oh well the guy couldnt drive......" Quit the BS and give me my props. Stop whining cause my car is faster than what you say it is.

i saw that show and that was awesome. Also the dyno only went to 1200 like CRO4GT said, but you saw it flatlined for a while and then it dropped. so it probabaly had about 1350 maybe around 1400 lbft tq, damn that's sweet.

I could see a GT with a NX kit beating a Z06 or a Cobra. The three guys I know running a similar set up all run low 12's to 11.50's with 4.10's drag radials and a NX 100 shot. I raced a 03 Cobra last week twice at the track in the quarter, he won the first race by 1 car length and the second by 3 car lengths and I don't have nitrous. Had I had decent dr's I would have beat him on the first run.
He came up to me after the second run and wanted to know what all I had done since he had been chasing me all the way to the 1,000' mark. He was shocked to find out I only put down 250 rwhp.while he dyno'd at 435 rwhp. If you can hook those NX kits make huge torque. Most of the near stock Cobra's and Z06's I see at the track run mid 12's at best so again I can see him beating them.
Seems strange to beat those cars and get beat by a huge *** truck but that's racing for you.

I think everyone is just saying 10 or 20 Tons Just joking around, if they did weigh that, i could out run one on foot....a stock one.
