Default Shorty antenna

So I ordered an 8" shorty antenna and it only came with one piece to screw into my car and its the wrong one... How do I get the right connector piece?

him i dont kno but i also got the 8 inch antenna along with a cai and american muscle just threw the antenna as well as the little adapters in the poorly taped box i couldnt believe all 3 adapters made it to my front door o and btw i watched the little tech help video from american muscle on how to install the antenna and my kit came with a different style adapter setup. in the vid it came with 3 screws and you just picked which one fit in the car and that was it. mine came with a screw that went into the antenna one that went in the car and a little threaded black sleeve that connected them. i didnt care but was kinda confused because paint got into the little black sleeve and the screw pieces wouldnt thread rite away had to use some force. if you got the anteena from american muscle i would try contacting them. i understand when stuff happens like this they ship a replacement the next day free of charge(longest post i have ever writen)

It should look just like the above picture when installed. You are not supposed to use the sleeve or additional studs. Just install one stud (compare to stud on original antenna to figure out which one) into the antenna and then screw the antenna into the car. The sleeve and additional studs are for installing the antenna on cars other then a Mustang...the reason the sleeve was hard to turn is because you were cross-threading the wrong thread pattern into it.

Attached is a picture of the correct Mustang stud installed in the antenna.

this is a picture of my antenna. this is the only way i could get it to go on. the little screw pieces were too short to use just 1. it would thread all the way on 1 side and would maybe catch one thread on the other. i dont kno if this is the way it was intended to go or not but its holding strong and i have cyrstal clear radio(well as clear as radio can be lol)

It sounds like you were initially putting the incorrect stud into the antenna. That sleeve is actually for models that have the stud sticking out of the car. But hey, if it is installed and works, then thats what counts.
