Default starting problems

i have a 87 mustang GT... a few months ago it would not start up a couple times... and now it doesn't start at all... it craanks over and wants to but its not sparking untill i go to turn the key off!!! i have replased the coil and the ignition switch and the ignition modular... if u have any ides it would be very appracited!!!

When I had my old car the 85 SVO. I had same problems the car radomly would crank and not start. Finally it would only crank and it turned out to be the ignition module since its located right on the distributer the heat would eventually kill it. Make sure you have a good one on.

I would also look at replacing the pick-up coil inside the distributor. They are known to fail also.

check the starter.... my buddies 93' 5.0 needs a new one and he had similar problems. if not check to see if te battery cables are tight if they aren't it will seem like its gonna die when you turn your car on everytime then once it kicks in it'll be fine but check wires.

It might just be the starter solenoid, its that little round part of a starter...it will cost half as much as a new starter...if that is it.
