The housings from BOI should be direct replacement. I wouldn't buy the Ultra's, just get the standard Silverstar's. I've compared them side by side and there isn't enough of a differance to pay the extra cash.

The parts you need are:
  • Headlight bulbs: 9007ST-2
  • Corner Turn signal: 3157AST
  • Fog Lamp Bulb: 893ST
Hope this helps! :)

mustangman95gt 10-10-2008 09:45 PM

thanks it helped. i picked up the ultra just because the deal they had going on made them $10 cheaper than the regular silverstars so I thought why not, and so my lights don't look retarded im going to get the silerstar fog and side marker lights, also considering one of my foglights has been MIA since i hit a pot hole the car mustang didnt like. must have broken the bulb

mustangman95gt 10-15-2008 01:59 PM

greatttttttt the headlights came today, only problem is one of the brackets used to hold the bulb in place fell out during shipping and cracked in half. all i am getting is a busy signal so this is great. i wanted to install by this weekend i hope this works out

Ive had many lights, clear, black, etc. Its hit or miss if they will leak or not and its not tied to price either. I would seal any light you buy. My biggest issue I have is that the corners have a weather strip that does not last as it will crack due to sun exposure. I would keep the factory corners so when it does crack you can swap it out with aftermarket weather strip. The new edge stang dont have this issue as your one piece housing does not require weather stripping. The worst thing you could due to lights is grab them from the front and pull as your likly undoing the glue. You need to grab them from the rear to pull but pushing from the front clear plexi is ok.

silverstar by far. i just put new headlights on my car and put silverstar ultra in there, they are unreal. amazing light. you don't need to pay the extra for the ultras but they have a $10 rebate on them right now so it's cheaper. definately go with the silverstars

i will post pics hopefully later

just replaced my 14 year old headlights and corners with cobra chrome headlights and corners from blue oval and silverstar bulbs. i think it looks great, and a great improvement to visibility.

check it out

let me know what you think

To be honest, I'm suprised you guys replace them at all. When it comes to Audis, you simply refinish them with a DIY kit/assortment of sandpaper. Of course, that's probably because Audi headlights are over $500/each when new. The one's that you listed for your car are relatively cheap.

mustangman95gt 11-02-2008 07:45 AM

this is mustang forums not audi, audi's are more expensive cars hence the better stock headlights if you get the upgraded ones. thats like saying a new honda civic lights are as good as an STS.....except the 2009 mustang with HID, about a month ago there was one behind me in my convertible and he had his lights on and i couldnt look in my rearview because they were disturbingly bright

Well, we aren't dealing with Audi's on this forum, but people do "restore" headlights. Mustang headlights tend to yellow on the inside and the outside, unlike a lot of other vehicles so replacing them is typically a much better alternative than taking the lenses off of the housings and baking them back together.. Plus the aftermarket is so huge for Mustangs that most non OEM parts are relatively inexpensive.

This is an example of restoring headlights that a lot of folks use, this is on my '03 Stratus R/T.. https://mustangboards.com/show-shine...n-my-take.html

audikillsbmw 11-02-2008 03:19 PM

Yes, I know Audis are more expensive . I was still suprised that more of you don't refinish them. The point about them being yellow on the inside would certainly hinder that though.

mustangman95gt 11-02-2008 07:31 PM

we choose what we choose, most of us seize the unfortunate circumstances and splurge to buy a new pair to improve the look and visibility of our mustangs. refinishing in mustangs is more for mustang owners that want to keep it stock, collector, and want their vintage mustang to still be vintage

Or if you want to save money. I cleaned mine up as they were getting haggard.
