A day at the track

Went and did some road course today. I figured I'd post up that I'm not the worlds best driver, but did have fun pretending I was!!

But this vid has a bit more. I've seen lots of photos of a Mystichrome, most of them mine. But I have yet to see a video of a Mysticrhome that shows all of its colors. By accident, we do have one here. Enjoy!

The track event was hosted by the Viper Club in Raleigh. They rented the Sanford Airport for the day. Many nice cars there for sure. I was lucky enough to get invited as a guest.

very nice video!

there's a mystic chrome at the ford dealer here.. it's a sad story. it's been there forever, someone actually tried to steal it a few years back and wrecked it while getting it out of the show room. the dealership fixed it and is trying to sale it as new I think lol.

Great vid how did you mount that cam on the side is that a professional mount or a homade one?? Either way very cool video. I haven't seen your car for a while is it in the garage most of the time??

Thanks. I use a sticky pod to mount the camera. www.stickypod.com

My car has never seen a garage overnight. I drive it everyday and have over 31K miles on it now. It has been to Fayetteville a few times, VIR twice (and going back this December), and now this track event. I'm always up and about.

Ya. You definately want to go to that event in December.

For those that don't know, on Dec. 9th (Friday), The Heart of Carolina Mustang Club (HCMC) will be driving to Virginia International Raceway (VIR) to help raise toys for needy children. This is a VIR sponsored event that the HCMC has participated in for the last 3 years. For each $25 worth of toys or $25 in cash you'll get roughly 30 min on the track. I say roughly because the amount of time on the track is dependent on the number of people who participate.

This is a noncompetitive event therefore there is no need for a helmet. There is no passing allowed and there is a pace car. Any type of car is welcome. Speed varies on the driver. They try to put the faster cars up front and slower cars to the rear.

If you are interested in joining us, please check out our forums for the meeting time and place. This event is more about donating toys for needy children over the holidays than anything else and our club is happy for anyone to join us there.

I found this on you'alls web site from last year at Virginia. Sweet stuff. Is that run at your own risk? It looks like a contolled race but I bet there are some mishaps if anyone can race..

It is a run at your own risk event. You must sign a waiver in order to run there. However, it is not a race, just people taking laps. There is no passing allowed. If you spin out, you are black flagged and you must come into the pits for a warning. There is a pace car and a trailing car to ensure that the speeds are safe for everyone.

I think that track is in dimwiddie if i ain't mistaking?? Just outside of Richmond. I would love to go there and run some laps. :D

It is not the track in Dinwiddie. This track is located in Danville,VA.

Any type of car is welcome as long as it won't break down.

I mispelled dinwiddie (sorry). What track is that? it's fairly new. They run NHRA there I think it's Richmond International Dragway?

Anyway my wife and I have a camper on lake Gaston in Bracey VA. That aint very far from Danville. Geez I'd love to go but work 6 days and most vacation time aint about what I want to do. LOL. Married man, I should be driving a minivan... :o

VIR has been around a very long time. However, I'm not sure when, but they closed and let the track go to pieces. Then, a few investors got together and put it all back together, made it look nice, put a hotel right off the track, and it has taken off.

DON'T get a minivan!!! Keep the stang and feel good about yourself!!
