Frame Reinforcement

I have seen the frame kits where you weld in a bunch of pieces to stiffen the body. Looking at the parts I know that I could fab the pieces myself. What I am wondering is, have any of you done this? Or have you seen a website that provides detailed photos of one of these kits installed? I would like to know roughly where all of the pieces are installed.

The kits are usually $1000+ and I would much rather do it myself for that price.

Thanks

**** I posted a link awhile back to a company in MM&FF that had an artical about their chasis stiffening kit, with roll cage and everything, But search Google, and 3.8mustang.com I'm sure someone there def. knows how to help you...

Yeah, I have seen those. I am talking about the complete kits. There are quite a few parts in the kit... subframe connectors are included

Thank you, I had read something in a magazine but could not find it. Now I know where to look.

Me personally I would not risk making it myself. I would leave it to the professionals. I will install the parts myself though.

I know a thing or two about manufacturing... but the engineering of where the parts go I do not. I am not that familiar with my mustang yet.

If you look under the car you will figure it out pretty easily if you know about cars.

Ford racing makes subframe connectors, they are around 100 bucks.

If you were looking to go hardcore kenny brown makes and "extreme matrix subframe system" shown below. For around 250 bucks. Any subframes can be a base to a rollcage to stiffen further. Typical cages go for about $400. A cuple sites you may want to check out.
