Turbo v6
#2
I don't know if it is a good idea or not, but I personally don't like turbos. I'm a retired transport refrigeration mechanic, and once worked for a trucking company that bought 12 brand new Freightliners with 350 Cummins diesels. One of them used so much oil that it would leave the yard in City of Commerce and loose oil pressure at the base of the "Ridge Route" distance of around 50 miles or less. That truck was sent back to Freightliner 5 or 6 times for the problem and each time we got it back, it did the same thing. The last time it went in the mechanic thought to check the turbo and found a damaged seal on the turbo. That leaking seal caused the engine to suck in and burn 10 gallons of oil in less than 50 to 100 miles! I just don't trust turbos. If the wrong seal leaks, it can get expensive fast.
