What 8.8's fit in 00 mustang?
So I have realized as much as I want a GT is not possible insurance wise yet, not while i'm in school anyways. So I'm going to fix my car, instead of putting in an axle I was thinking of switching it to an 8.8 rear and am wondering what other vehicles have 8.8s that will fit in my car because junked GT's are hard to find up here.

if you going to get a 8.8 from a mustang, stick with your year because the 94-98 gt rearends are a bit longer...I dont think thats a bad thing but it will be best
and i have no clue what other cars you could get a 8.8 rearend off from |
wrong. 94-98 rears are shorter hub to hub.
Use any 94-04. If you can't find a 99-04 (best option) then grab a set of 25mm H&R wheel spacers and the 94-98 rear will work like a charm. Be aware that there are bolt hole size issues too, so you may need to drill out the control arms if they're using 12mm bolts so you can use your 14mm bolts. All in all you can use any of them. 99-04 gt rears are the easiest. None of them is much harder than 4 bolts and 2 hours. |

I went with a 98 cobra axle. My E-brake lines aren't hardly long enough. So I cant use my ebrake unless its an emergency.

And out of curiosity, how much was yours? If anyone else has one or knows what they generally cost that would be helpful too.

I got my 8.8 from hub to hub for like 300. And it just had a 3.73 installed with all new plates and shimmed. Doesnt whine a bit. I had to change the axles because they were warped. So after everything 500 dollars.
And yes. E for emergency. But you also pull your ebrake when u park on hills to keep the car from drive locking in park. |
I got my 8.8 from a dude with a Mach 1 off ebay, it was $341, had the factory 3.55 gears, but no mach brakes :(

Would a Fox rear fit in one?
