rear end search
ive been looking around for some 8.8 rear ends on ebay and craigslist and found two that i feel are the best.
http://newjersey.craigslist.org/pts/1736988540.html http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/pts/1781116226.html the first looks the best but i havent heard back from him so im still looking, but hopefully he gets back to me. let me know what you guys think. |
do you think there woth it?

the 2006 won't fit your car. the suspension is completely different

spend the money else where! Looking at your mod list...there's nothing to suggest you are even close to needing an 8.8..other then the philosophy of its broke....upgrade it.. is it broke?
|
well i plan on doing serious engine mods later down the road but if i can find one with gears already in it why wouldn't i get the deal now and not have to worry later on.

get what you want. might as well get the whole rear end used. it would be just as much as having your current end rebuilt. should you actually have to pass on something because you don't "need" it. i say no. why not get an 8.8 rear end for the price of rebuilding your 7.5 rear end? i picked up a new edge rear end for my 96 just because it was cheap. my 96 has a 7.5 rear with 2.73 gears and the one i picked up for 40 dollars has 3.27 gears. did i need another 7.5 rear end with 3.27 gears...no. do i need to install it and quit letting it sit in my garage......yes
research the 2006 rear end. TNell may be on to something. i don't think the frame is the same from 99-04 to 05-09. |
04 and earlier is a 4-link and the coils ride on the control arms
05-09 is 3 link and the coils are on the axle housing |
Yeah you don't need an 8.8 yet. Do more mods like boost or nitrous and then maybe we can talk.
I recommend spraying it :smokin: |
