Gears?
 

I've looked through the threads and can't find out what i'm looking for...


So if i bought these 4.10 gears for my 2009 v6

What kind of mechanic could i go too? any?

Can the mechanic tune my car for the speedometer or am i gonna have to buy my own tuner just to recalibrate the speedometer??

andddddd what kind of price am i looking at for installation?

Not everyone can install gears. Some shops won't touch that kind of work. Its in your best interest to call around and find the best deal.

They won't be able to adjust the computer for the new gears. However a hand held tuner like a SCT or Diablo tuner can do that for you. Plus a tuner/cai combo is one of the best upgrades for your car anyhow. And if you don't have that yet do it first. Then get gears.

Install can vary anywhere from $150-500 depending on where you live etc....

Also you will need a install kit and fluid. And this would be the time to install a posi so you can spin both tires for maximum traction over just the one like you can right now.

So basically...a TON of money :P

Not a ton of money, but your looking at for just gears and labor and a posi atleast $700. Its well worth it though. Makes a big difference and the posi helps a ton to get the car moving forward instead of just smoking the passenger side tire.

I have to agree with Dustin, I would go with a diablosport tuner for $369 and then get some gears. $700 is the max you should pay for the tuner, gears, and installation.

SCT owns Diablo. Just saying

And 700 bucks total huh..

So, gears, an install that most shops charge out as a 5+ hour install, and a 300+ dollar tuner..

I don't see it being 700 bucks.

A posi, gears, and a tuner will be ideal. But you're going to look at about a grand or so.

And if you're going to get the tuner, may as well get the cai/sct package from vmptuning.com ...awesome place to deal with..
