Hey Guys,
Heres a video of a v6 stang that sounds beautiful.. =) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcvAwZUFw5w would anyone know where to get v6 cams? im guessing he also changed the timing of it.. I was searching google for cams but didnt find any.. maybe someone can tell me a brand to search for Thanks alot Joey |
www.supersixmotorsports.com sells cams, forged internals, heads, and other stuff for v6 mustangs
|
Comp Cams also has a nice list of cams for the v6 Fords.
Your car is a pushrod motor so it only has one cam not two like a sohc or four like a dohc motor. |

Thank you |
Nope first off a SOHC engine has 2 cams, 1 under each valve cover
Second the 3.8 liter v6 only has 1 cam, and its inside the block, not under the valve covers |

Yeah they really have alot of things covered now that they did not a few years ago. It's a cool site for sure.
Oh also a cam is a mod that needs to be made once you are pretty much done with your goal are almost at your goal. As a cam needs to make everything work together well to make the most power. So if your gonna spray it later or add boost, then a cam for a n/a motor is not gonna work well. |
Ok, Since I got an idea about the cams.. Now lets say for example I purchase a cam,
Will the SCT SF3 XCal3 Power Flash Tuner be able to tune the engine to this cam specs? |
A decent tuner can give you a tune to handle the idle issues and what not.
|
Supersix can set you up with a very nice comp cam that isn't going to mess anything up, and you can tune fairly easily.
As for whitestang goes..sounds like my cam on a cold start....218/224 OR/X and a stroker... guess I really need to get a sound clip or two up of idle? |
