single or dual?

Should i buy the single side exhaust from spintech or the y pipe dual kit.Im not going big in power or anything but i was just wondering.I WANT side exhaust no matter what. But ive heard sixers sound better with a single exhaust instead of "fake" duals.

Go true duals ?

Rumblin_6 09-10-2009 05:22 PM

True duals or GT type mid-pipe duals (X or H). But go dual - If you are only going to do limited mods stick with 2.25" as there would be no need to go bigger and you would gain from the increased pipe size.

True duals on v6's, i think, sound horrible. I would go with an h-pipe dual exhuast. I think that sounds the best

stangkid1993 09-10-2009 07:15 PM

im probally going duals out the side, but like i said im not doing an h or x pipe setup because i dont have the money for it and i like the side exhaust that spintech offers

H-pipe on mine was $20.00 more. All the guy has to do is pre-notch holes in the two pipes running out back and weld in a cross pipe.

Switch is right. It wouldn't sound bad true duals especially with Flows but with Spintechs the crossover might take a bit of the higher rpm rasp out of it - as I heard they get slightly raspier than Flows up over 3,000 rpm.

As long as you get the right mufflers the shit should sound good right?

I posted a video somewhere. I'll find it next time I'm at a computer

I was going to go with straight pipes, but the shop owner talked me out of it by simply saying, "It's going to sound like shit." Coming from a guy who has made a living from installing new exhaust systems on cars for a decade or two, I think he knows what he's talking about.

True Dual with a H pipe Spin Techs

I always thought that true duals meant no mid-pipe.

A true dual exhaust system has two complete sets of pipes, catalytic converters, mufflers and tailpipes running from the engine. Dual exhausts are mainly found on V-6 and V-8 motors because these engines have two exhaust manifolds-one for each side of the engine. On the other hand, a dual exiting exhaust system uses a special muffler to split the one head pipe into two tail pipes. Dual exiting systems can be installed on 4-cylinder, V-6 and V-8 engines, even if there is only one exhaust

I'm retarded. I was thinking of divorced duals.
