3.8 Jegs exhaust

Hello, im brand new to this site and had one question in mind i wanted to ask. I'm looking at buying the jegs 3.8 catback system(y-pipe) and was wondering if anyone has seen or heard it. i'm not looking for GT sound because its just a six-banger, but any advide would help
Thanks:cool:

welcome to the site. your best bet is to go on youtube and search there are thousands of exhaust clips from mustangs. i haven't heard too much on jegs. i've got a mac cat back and i really like the sound. if you have the money the best thing to do is to dump the y pipe and have a muffler shop fab u a custom h pipe or two straight pipes that will give you better gains(the little bit you can get from a exhaust mod)

They use a "turbo" style muffler so its pretty quiet setup. Here is the only video I could find.

i found this h- pipe on ebay..http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MAC-1...ViewItem...and i have a magnaflow catback that connects right to the y-pipe..if i have a exhaust shop fab the magnaflow would it fit on that h-pipe? and how much of improvement and more will it sound?

anybody?

thanks alot for the opinions, i went to the local shop today and they were charging about $600 for a custom H-pipe and mufflers so i think i'll stick with a catback, was the mac catback hard to install? any problems?

Mac catback was prob just as much of a problem as any other cat back ur going to put on. It just takes lots of adjusting the different sections till it all lines up. Do a search on this forum for mac catback and look at the different posts. I've got some pics of mine up here in one of them.I think I paid 303 and some change shipped for mine.

If you buy a H -pipe for the v6 and you already have a catback on the car using the stock Y-pipe then they will just have to cut the catback and then attach it to the H-pipe.

ok yea thats what i was assuming..how much more power and louder do u think it would be?

zigzagg321 05-20-2009 08:18 PM

quite a bit louder, but not more power...its possible that you might lose a tiny bit of power at the rpm's you likely use the most. basically, you arent really going to feel a difference...maybe mentally more than anything cause its going to be louder.

probiker427 05-20-2009 08:23 PM

so is it worth it? or should i just save up and look into exhaust shops for a fab true duel set up?

probiker427 05-21-2009 04:15 PM

anyone?

spike_africa 05-22-2009 07:46 AM

Its your call what you do. I would do whatever is the cheapest way to get true duals or H on the car.

mustangV6_04 05-22-2009 05:46 PM

well true duels in my eyes depends on what you feel like doing to the car later on....if you just feel like having the car with a few mods cai, exhaust and visuals, just using it as basically a cruiser go with the y pipe exhaust because you will lose noticable anounts of torque in the low rpms when you will use them the most but if your ever gonna put a power adder on supercharger, turbo, n2o then go with the true duels.
