2006 v6 stalling problem

Hi all i dont even know were to start... i am so frustrated right now. I have been having a problem with my car randomly stalling i could be at a drive through or going 40 mph decelerating and my car will just die. I simply come to a stop put it in park and start it back up like nothing ever happened. BUT lately omg it happens almost 2-3 times a day.. i took it to my shop finally because it got a check engine light.. it read a throttle response error code so the shop tested it out and of course my car didnt act up for them. They cleared the codes and 170 dollers later i drive away and about 2 miles down the road i stall again. The shop said they can replace the throttle part which they think could be causing the problem but it would cost me around 800+ labor so more like 1000 all together. My car doesnt always stall but when i am at a stop all of a sudden my rpm's will go from 600 to 500 and then my car will start shaking and if the light turns green i need about 5 seconds befor my car gets up and goes. otherwise it just randomly stalls... oh and another thing that has happened is the rpms will just go up and down even when i am applying the brake so i have to mash it in park and restart my car.

UGHH that is basically it if you need to know anything else please ask i am about ready to sell my car because about a month ago my alternator went bad which cost me 500 now this problem seems to only be getting worse... LEMON? i am also not feeling safe anymore driving my car :{ let alone it being race worthy..

and if u need to know... mods are bbk CAI and borla axel backs

Check your fuel filter, if its clogged up you won't get enough fuel to the engine and it will die on you. It could also be a bad plug, bad plug wire, bad coil pack, et al. Honestly just start checking each part and going down the list, it could be almost anything.

My car did that once and it was my fuel filter that i needed to change, but mine is an 02 not an 06

$1000.. For a throttle body?

. . .

Without mileage, I have no idea what's going on. Fuel filters don't USUALLY just go bad under just a few thousand miles. Could be the air intake, the IAF, hell you could just have a misfiring plug. Who the hell knows.

FYI- You can go to any auto parts store and get the codes read for free and then they can clear the SES light for FREE! so don't ever pay to have that done ever again. You can also clear your own SES light by disconnecting the batter for 5-10 mins with the headlights turned on. This will drain all the power out of the ECU and will clear the codes.

I need to really know what code it tossed to help any more then this. But I would say either vacuum leak from CAI, or IAC valve, or the throttle body problem which I can not see making the car stall.

well, after my alternator went bad, i changed mine and i seen a similar problem to yours. If yours occured after you changed your alternator then i dont think its bad, i think its something with the belts. BUT anyways, after i changed mine, i noticed that when i would come to a stop sign or something, my RPMS would occasionally drop, so now when i get to stop signs i just throw it in neutral and its all good..

warranty?

They said it probably inst the fuel filter because it gave the throttle response code. I need to look up which one it gave exactly. Since my car is newer i would have to replace my whole gas tank or something is what they said... if it was the fuel filter. I paid for them to drive it around for 2 hours trying to get it to act up not for clearing the codes but still its bull shit.

You dont replace a fuel tank to replace a fuel filter, they are full of it. Or did not explain it well.

If it's a throttle responce code and its a fly by wire setup could be throttle body or Pettel switch assembly

Need to reset your throttle body sensor. Unhook your battery and turn on your lights to drain your system computer, wait about 10 min. Hook battery back up. Start car after about 5 minutes of idling your car with start to idle smoother. Take for a test drive. This should fix all hesitation and misfires.
