8.8 rear end questions
would this one fit even though its from a mid 90s model?
http://charlotte.craigslist.org/pts/1133846468.html ima call him tomorrow and ask him about it and possibly pick it up this weekend |
Id ask about its mileage and etc. Seems pretty cheap idk.

any 8.8 from a 79-04 will bolt into your car. However the 79-93 will be about an 1" shorter on both sides, and a 96-98 will be about a 3/4" I believe on both sides shorter. Not totally a big deal unless you try to run wide rims/tires then you can have rubbing issues.

nah im prolly just gonna stick with the 17s i have on it now

get a set of 1" wheel spacers if you go that route. Sucked in rear tires looks like ass. I have a 98 cobra axle on my 03 GT. They bolt right in for the most part. You'll have to deal with transferring the rear disc brake setup onto it too. If possible get one from a 96-98 mustang or a 99-04 (kinda hard to find). Either of the latter 2 will bolt up with very little issue and your brake lines will hook up with little issue.

i have stock gt rims on my v6. wheel spacers wouldnt work would they?
|
Spacers will work. Just get hub centric spacers. And make sure your studs are long enough or that the spacers have the studs pressed in.
|
You can run the 94-98 rear end with stock wheels v6,gt,cobra without a problem.
