couple of questions because i want to make sure i dont fuck anything up..
so i got some used gears and tlok and i'm about to get them installed but i want to get a few things clear first..
1. if the tlok and gears are used do i still need to buy a bottle of friction modifier? 2. whats a good way to get the bearing off the pinion gear without messing anything up? 3. what is the bolt that runs through the shaft on the tlok? i think the one on mine is a little loose so does it need to be tight or what? 4. isn't the rear end capacity like 2.1quarts? |
You always need friction modifier when running a Ford posi or T-lok. You can leave that to the shop or heat it in the over really well and or use a torch on the bearing and get it very hot and it will slip off. That bolt is there to hold that shaft in once the axles c slips are installed, don't worry about it. you need to buy 3 bottles of rear end fluid.

ok, well its not going to hurt the clutches inside the tlok or mess up the strength of the metal to heat it up will it?
