Exhaust Question

Hello Im new to this forum and i have a question i bought a 2008 v6 auto mustang and as my first mod y bought a magnaflow dual exhaust and bbk shorty headers from AM. I thought the sound was going to be louder when idleing and its not its very quiet. Any ideas why?

As a general rule, our sixers aren't loud at all when they idle. With the exception of going muffler-less or straight resonators with no mufflers, I've never heard a 'loud idle'.
How long have you had the system? The longer you have it, it should start to open up a little bit and get louder. I've had my system for just over 8 months and it has gotten considerably louder.

Does your car feel slower after the headers lol

Its a v6 anything you put on that car will be considerably quieter then a v8 like the other guy said your exhaust will break up packing with time and it will wear in and get louder. but theres no way of making a v6 sound even the least similar as a v8

What about i change the Y pipe to an H? I also heard that also changing the catalytic converters to high flow would change the sound? I know that would not make it sound like a V8 but all i want is to make it sound as loud and deepest tone possible. Thanks for helping.

magnaflow is not that load an H pipe will make it a deeper sound but your not going to get the v8 sound.
