Exhaust question
Hey guys,
I'm 16 and recently purchased an 06 Stang windveil blue, and I installed silver stripes myself to give it a new sporty look. my question is do you think it is worth it to install Pypes 409 Stainless Steel V6 Dual Pipe Conversion Kit (2005+ V6) or worth the money at my age to tear off the old exhaust that works perfectly fine? the reason I'm asking is because my dad thinks its stupid. any help appreciated |
An exhaust is mainly for the sound..
I personally, wouldn't waste the money on PYPES however. I'd dish out a little more cash and go with a MAC ;) At 16 (3 years ago for me) my dad thought everything I did to my car was stupid... now he wants to drive it... |
yeah thats the only reason I want it, the sound. I totally agree with you my car is nicer than my parents and they tell me not to waste money on it... haha
do you know how much a MAC is? i make minimum wage btw.. lol |
Then save save save!
well depends on if you have smog laws or not.. to be honest, i'd say screw buying the mid pipe go to an exhaust shop and have them fab you up something nice ;) Take out the cats, have an H pipe welded in, and go with flowmaster magnaflow or spintechs for exhaust... Check out the video section for exhaust clips.. Its probably somewhere between 300-400 dollars.. I paid..300 for my h welded in with new mufflers..and a catalytic converter re-welded..cause it broke.. |
I think there in the mid 400's for mac. You get what you pay for on just about all this stuff. I've never heard pypes on a 05+ but I have heard it on a 99-04. I personally wasn't a fan of it.

get another job that pays better too! i dont believe in minimum wage...lol
|
I make $7 an hour mainly because i'm 16. if you have any other suggestions on how to make more at my age that would be appreciated. I also try to sell stuff on ebay.
AM sells the pypes and it looked like it got a few good reviews thats why I was interested, but you guys arent too big of fans.. hmm |
Lol nah man..at 16 thats about all you'll make is minimum..
Pypes really isn't great sounding, I'd save up your money and have one fabricated at an exhaust shop..you'll be a lot happier. |

http://rpmoutlet.com/newv6m.htm check it out seriously man, if i were u, the best bang for the buck is gears and t-lock and a tuner. then maybe you can think of exhaust. there is a really great thread here on building up a V6 stang... i'll try and find it and link it here later. |
