im not sure if youre a member of moddedmustangs.com but atlanticblue runs a 15.05-.08 with just bolt-ons and on 17/9&17/10.5 rims. all he has are 4.10 gears, posi-trac differential, mac long tubes,o/r h-pipe,magnaflow magnapack, cai, tuner, lowering springs, removed front away bar.
true i do have 18 inch rims, but i will have a torque converter, j-mod, lca's, ported upper, intake spacer, and tb in addition to most of his mods. Who knows, maybe you can get there....go for it. But that is a seriously big investment for a car especially for someone so vested in trying to run fast at the track. It will be interesting to see how the converter will help. Run it and tell us. |

That is a good comparison, but still not a mid 14 second car. He has also invested quite a bit of money to still be running in the 15's. You also have to look at the altitude he is running at and what you will be running at.

http://www.psimotorsprts.com/ Their new site is http://www.psimotorsportstx.com/ They specialize in Lightning's, but tune alot of 03-04 cobra's and FI GT's. Ya HPP is a very good shop and have great tuner's there as well. I just don't want to drive that far when PSI is just an hour drive for me.

that's not really hard to do. when my car just had the cai it was running mid 15's. w/all that i'd hope it would run 15 flat. the tuner helped his auto the most. that and the gears. what'd he have in it gear wise?

hey man get a cold air intake and the screamin demon coil pack from v6 performance parts i put it on today and it helps ALOT especially the more you drive it because the ECU relearns the ignition and your driving habbits and if your looking for someone to race go to manchac on a saturday night on old hwy 51 onside of 55 they always got ppl out there racing
|
is screamin demon coil pack good?
|
I am not sure about the setup on a v-6, but coil pack upgrades are a waste of money on a GT. They do nothing and are marginal at best on a blown application. I have never seen a single dyno done independantly that warrant their use except on high-powered cars. The one excpetion would be if the ignition system were screwed-up to begin with.
This is a mod that you hardly ever see done on Mustangs.....even fast ones. The stock COP's are plenty good enough for most applications. |

yea i'm w/u on that one waterDR. when ya think about it, all the coilpack is doing is sending more "spark" to the plug. making it hotter and burning more of the gas/air. u can benefit only soo much from it burning cleaner.
anyways, tiger when are u gettin' the rest of ur parts so we can see what she'll run?? |
One thing to note....I think it more credible to see what guys use that have fast cars vs. what you see in the mags. Guys with fast cars are not trying to sell parts, but advertisements and magazines are.
Some stuff works, some stuff does not. Some stuff may not work now, but has a place later. |

almost right. he actually ran a 14.79. but that was with drag radials. before those, he was hitting right around 15. i do plan on getting some nitto 555r's but that wont be for another year or so until i need new tires.
He ran a 14.97 @ 92 And I would hope anybody trying to get times would be running on some decent tires. |

ok well was 14.97 with drag radials or on street tires?
