Uneed2Douche 02-06-2008 04:10 PM

yea i seen the cheep ones on ebay for like $25 looks like same one tristang is showing me but im sure they all do same thing

Uneed2Douche 02-06-2008 04:11 PM

yea i seen it said 99-03

tristang 02-06-2008 04:13 PM

oh i didnt know that would not work sorry about that bro. i was just lookin around.

Dave04Mustang 02-06-2008 04:14 PM

yeah you will be fine with an ebay one. There is a chance it may not fit perfectly and you might have to make some cuts but what can you expect I mean your only paying $25. Pcola had to do that with his I'm not sure what he had to fabricate though he will probably chime in.

Uneed2Douche 02-06-2008 04:17 PM

dave i see that u have custom rims i do also they are 18" rims with 235-40-18 tires after i put them on i seen differance in pick up my car gets seems slower should i get computer reprogramed to my tire/rim size? u would think after a year of having them i would have been asked this question

Uneed2Douche 02-06-2008 04:19 PM

yea i seen what he typed in another cai post

You won't need a tune for tires it shouldn't effect anything. Are the rims 18x9 because the idle tire size should have been 275/35/18. Since you have an aspect ratio of 40 on an 18" rim that seems a little high. I'm not sure why it seems slower I mean the larger rims you put on technically the slower it will get but I wouldn't think it would be that noticeable. That tire size your running doesn't seem safe does it look really weird on the rim?

im not sure what they are by u sayin 18x9 i only know my tire size no it looks fine on the rim no problems other then sluggish handles extremly well

the second number is just the width of the rim. I'm guessing you have a 18x8.5 which should have been with a 245/40/18. Don't know what to tell you about the sluggish part. I would just check the air filter, make sure the mass air sensor is clean. Stuff like that

Uneed2Douche 02-06-2008 04:49 PM

k thanx u were great help on the cai. i'll check all that i havnt cleaned my filter for a long time mass air can wait till i get my cai

why wouldn't that work? we just told him any 99-04 one off ebay will fit his 3.9 so why wouldn't the one that AM sells which is basically an ebay intake fit?
It will fit I am almost 100% sure, there is no difference in the motors.

Uneed2Douche 02-07-2008 12:42 PM

if you read the note on the page it says it wont fit late 03 or any 04

It may have something to do with the length of the pipe since its a fender well intake. I don't know. I was just informing him because clearly AM wouldn't say something will not fit on a certain year if it actually did.

AM's cold air intake, installed on an 04 Mustang...

I'm guessing he fabricated it for the hose?? and if not then I guess your right as I said I was just quoting what AM.com says on their website. My intake looks nicer than that from the picture.. looks like the thing didn't fit so he put something around it

mustangvsix 02-07-2008 05:48 PM

I just pm'd him. He is a member over on 3.8 mustang. He installed it, no fab work what so ever, just straight out of the box from AM. So like i said 99-03 intakes fit 04's since it is the same motor, ford just likes to fudge it's measurements...haha
