is this a good chip to get for an 04 v6 mustang? some guy is selling one on CL for real cheap... I also am concerned with warrenty issues keep in mind.

Well that depends. Is it programed for your ECU code?

Whenever you buy a handheld tuner, check with your local dyno tuners to see what brand they use. If you ever plan on dyno tuning your car you'll need to have what they use.

The most common ones are SCT and Diablo.

Also most handheld tuner are locked to your car once they are used. The only way to unlock them is, sometimes when the car is returned to the stock tune this unlocks them, or some shops/companies can unlock them usually for under $100.00.
The VIN unlock feature is usually limited to a few times

it's junk. Even the best tune from that will be a crappy tune.

If you want a chip on your six, wait till you really need it. It's not going to help enough to justify the cost.

If you buy a tuner at all, there's only 1 company that's worth a damn: SCT, makers of Xcal2 and Live Link and all manner of custom programmed chips.

+1 SCT is the best
