clutch/reverse problems

Well i jus had a new clutch and a new transmission put in my 95 V6 stang, but i am getting some weird noises from my clutch, I think it is the throwout bearing but im not sure, i was wondering if transmission fluid effects the clutch. I dont hear any grinding when i shift through 1st through 5th but when i try to shift in reverse it often, not all the time, but most of the time makes a nasty grinding noise which is pretty damn embarassing. The noise that my clutch makes is nasty as hell too and its embarassing as well, it kind of sounds like a damn pigeon lol any help/advice would be appreciated.

Take it back!

haha, yea i agree, take it back. ok, as for the "pidgeon" sound; if the clutch pedal is NOT pushed in (full upright position) i believe it's the throw-out bearing. if the pedal IS pushed in (down to the floor) and it makes the sound it is the pilot bearing. sometimes that sound can be fixed by adjusting the clutch. as for the reverse issue, have you tried putting it in 1st gear then reverse? sometimes it'll grind if ya don't do that. lemme know how everything goes!

Yeah i tried to take it back a while ago and they jus told me that the clutch was showing some wear and that it was probably because I was driving too aggressive which is bullshit because I usually dont do anything stupid. everyonce in a while i like to spin the tires but i dont do anything other than that. Besides that, a clutch should not wear out after 7,000 miles! It is ridiculous. I didnt get any kind of warranty either so i guess im gonna have to learn the hard way. So does anyone know if transmission fluid affects the clutches performance?

tell him you'll sue him in small claims court and report him to your states Division of Automotive Repairs if he can't manage to properly adjust the clutch.

No, tranny fluid has nothing to do with clutch performance. If it's just reverse then there may be a maladjusted clutch or a tranny actually on the way out. Problem for your wrench is, MAYBE dont cut it.

the damn thing went out this morning on the way 2 work...looks like ill be gettin a new one. Hopefully this will solve all of my problems. I know im not takin it back to that shop for sure!

damn that sucks...ya should see if they will give u a refund on the clutch price at least. i don't think ya could tear up a clutch in less then a week...even shitty drivers take a few months at the least.

Took it back, got it fixed for 200 dollars (labor) which isnt too bad. Now im happy with it, smooth and no noises!!!
