Possible to blow posi?

Dunno who remembers i started a thread when I blew my stock diff and replaced it with an ebay posi with 4.10...
now it does a peg leg. only a week or so after i got it all running. is it possible i blew something making it posi and bringing it back to an open rear?

did you get a clutch rebuild pack for the ebay posi? because there was probably a reason it was on ebay to begin with

no i didnt. the person selling it is diffdoc.. he takes them out of cars in junkyards and sells them on ebay after inspecting the teeth and whatnot.

short answer:

yes it can be blown, the clutches could be gone etc.

i'm sure that guy does at little as possible with the posi's so he can make the most money he can. you probably should have gotten a clutch rebuild kit before you threw it in. It's sucky, but i think you got a crappy posi. thats the risk you take with eBay though, hopefully you can get it fixed without denting the wallet too much worse.

yeah clutch rebuild kit. sucks cause then I gotta take everthing apart buy new silicon new oil fix the lash etc sucks sucks sucks.

you dont need to relash it just from pulling the posi to install new clutch packs. My guess is while he does inspect them he doesnt rebuild them and thus the clutchs are worn.
