Please help me: The e-brake doesn't seem to be released. (07 Mustang)
 

I've read many posts about the e-brake won't release on 05-06 models, I thought 07 has been fixed, but I may be wrong. So this is what happened:

I released the e-brake lever, the brake-light on the dashboard disappeared, I drove away as usual. But when the car was moving, it sounded like I was driving it with the e-brake on. Lots of squeaks from the rear brake pad. No brake light on dashboard, no unusual noise when I rev the engine in the neutral. Is this the infamous e-brake won't release problem? I mean the brake light on dashboard disappears when I release the lever.

The dealer is not going to open until the Xmas is over, what should I do now? Will it disengage itself over time? I didn't pull the lever up this time.

If you read the other posts, some of the guyz were mentioning that it was related to frozen water in the brake lines... so u might wana try waitin for the car to warm up, or take it to the dealer to see if the lines are sealed properly...

I called the Roadside Assistance, they said the only thing they can do is to tow my car to the dealer to fix it, and the dealer won't open until tuesday. I need to drive back home for Christmas, it's 300mi away. If I can't get it moving, I'll have to ride in a Greyhound bus, which is horrible.

Another solution I can think of is, to drive to washing station, and use the high-pressure water to get it unfrozen. But I'll have to drive it with the brake pads squeaking with the rotor all they way to the washing station. That will hurt the rear brake. But that's the only way I can think of. Is that a good idea?

Why can't Ford fix this known problem before releasing the car. :shakeno:
