Odd Bumping Feeling
Yeah this one is hard to describe. Two months ago I hit a dead fox on highway 641 at around 75 MPH. When I hit it, it jammed my car into second gear. Luckily I was near my uncle's shop, so I was able to get it to him. I couldn't adjust any of the gears, and all he had to do was put it on a lift and readjust the gear cable. Now here's the issue.
Because I have an automatic (haha, yeah.) I have one foot on the gas/brake and my other foot on the floorboard or dead-pedal. Whenever I kick it in (with traction control ON), the car pulls (but not a consistant pull, it hesitates every now and then) and I feel this tapping right below my foot on the floorboard. When I take traction controll off, its much softer if not completely gone. It didn't do this before I hit that fox. Any suggestions? |

Yeah the no-reply from a forum full of guys that know the Mustang better than the manufactuers isn't really a good sign.
But thanks. My parents wanted to sell it, so thats why I was MIA for a bit there. But we're going to try and get back into the swing of things. Probably going to keep it off the road for the next year while I replace the exhaust and the brake system... its all rusted out so, shes my jack-stand-baby for now =) |
Wounder if it could've actually somehow caused damage to the tranny or something.. ;x

Should I ask this be moved to the general tech forum or is everyone pretty stumped on this.
