Differential guestion. .
 

Im looking at buying a posi trac differential for my 00 3.8L. How does Auburn compare to FRPP? Also, will a 7.5" differential off of a Camaro work for my stang? I have 4.10 motive gears waiting to be installed along with it if that makes a difference.

you need a ford 7.5" posi just get the ford T-lok its cheap and can be had off ebay for very little in good shape. Auburn is ok too but it smore the ford one and hardly better with cone design engagment. I dont personly like them at all.

don't waste money on an expensive 7.5 diff. If you're going to stick with the 7.5 then just use the Ford T-Lok. If you're going to spend that kind of money, see if you can find a 94-04 mustang GT 8.8 rear end and swap it in. It's hella easy and you'll have better strength right out of the box. Then you can sell the 4.10's and get some for an 8.8.

How big of a diffrence does swaping out the diff, make? I was thin king about doing that to my V6 as wel

the only difference is strength. that strength difference is substantial.

Just a little bit of info to chew on about the 7.5"


The only main diffrence between the 8.8 and 7.5" is the size of axles you can fit.

That being said. I have heard of people laying down up to 400hp with the 7.5" if it has hardened axles, hardened gears, and a good Locker.
