2 1/2 0r 3 1/2

Hey gots myself a problem. I Want to know If I put 3 1/2 in pipes on my exhaust will it lose a lot of torque? AND SOUND GOOD. or should the 2 1/2 do me just fine?

GREG@SN95 10-02-2006 11:22 PM

you will lose power... DO NOT DO

the exhaust won't flow well at all... if you think about it... the gasses will actually tumble from all the extra volumein the pipes...

so 2 1/2 will suffice

Lances03SVT 10-03-2006 03:23 AM

Yep don't go bigger than 2 1/2.

Teal_Beast 10-03-2006 05:50 AM

if your still stockish i would say even 2 1/4

Cheddarbob 10-03-2006 08:13 AM

i guess it might, but it will run like ****.

If you want to be loud just pull the cats and get a loud muffler.

Yeah I've heard that you really only need like one inch diameter per 50 horsepower or something like that, 3.5 inch exhaust wouldn't do any good, only bad.

hey but would it be worth the money for me to get higher flow cats when i buy my exhaust? will that make it louder?

Codiddy 10-05-2006 12:46 AM

high flow cats are supposed to be louder than the stock cats.

GREG@SN95 10-05-2006 01:36 AM

you could find a private inspector...

You remove them cats and have a non legal CA emmissions vehicle... take it to a private inspector... fork over some $$$ and get that stinkin sticker...

Or get high flow cats... they are the same thing but the holes in the catalic material are larger...

Or... do whatever you want... but save your stock stuff... so when you go to inspections you can swap back to stock...
