Engine swap 3.8 to a 4.6
I have a 99 3.8 v6 mustang and I found a 2000 Gt motor with the transmission for $1000 bucks. it will obviously fit into my car but my question is what else would I need? I mean exhaust is a given and obviously some computer work, but all in all, how much would I actully end up spending? P.S. I doubt I'm going to buy the motor, but I was just curious as to how much it would all cost.

youll need a new 8'8 rear with t'lok and axels cause the 6 i think has 7'5 rear end

its simple...trade in your v6 and get a v8 if you want the swap! Otherwise go with a power adder on your v6 ie: procharger/vortec/turbo.

*wire harness
8*.8" rear end...since ur buying one might as well put in a ford t-lok 31 spline diff and FRPP 31 spline axels *ECU *engine/transmission mount *full GT suspension...to handle the added weight of the engine...but i would go w/ an upgraded suspension..search around *fuel pump i think there may be alot more but thats the most of it |
Yea, it's really not worth swapping anything into a V6. Either put a power adder in it and make it one bad ass sixer like Teal or sell it privatly and get as much money as possible for it and get a GT/Cobra.
