2005 v6 mustang, 1500 dollars to spend.
Dunno what to do with the money :) any suggestions?
Would like to make the car sound more aggressive.. and get some half decent gains.. thanks! |
My cousin has an 05 mustang he just put some things on, I would suggest the following
1. tuner- sct xcal 2 2. CAI - you need the tuner for that 3. exhasust and nothing but duel exhaust, dont waste your money on single 4. shifter 5. springs 6. window tint 7. rims those are some of the things i would do if i had your car |
what about cold air induction..
any suggestions on that one? ! thanks! i dont think i could do duel exhaust because the kit is like 1600 dollars? meh! |

*EDIT* But you are right... NO WAY it'll cost 1600 bucks... |
duel exhaust is a must, CAI's are good, i would think about gears + Tlok
I say a guy at the track with a shift kit gears+tlok, exhaust, CAI and UDP and was running high 14's not bad at all IMO |

dude...just get...
1) gears(4.10) 2) CAI 3) tune for CAI 4) exhaust(nothin super expensive) after all that, you'd only have gained about 20 rwhp(about 30 bhp) but with the gears, you'll feel like it was a 40 rwhp gain. all that will cost under 1500 and youll be noticeably quicker |
^ what he said, only add in a TLOK while you have the diff open.
You'll feel a lot quicker, and with the gear advantage you will pull on people that you shouldnt down low, because of the gear. |
okay.. for the xcal tuner...
i have absolutely no idea how to use it to re-tune my car for the modifications i give it... so should i buy it, does it come with a detailed manual? does it come pre-configured so i can upload the config to my car? or ..? :) and does it matter if my car is auto? (for getting the 4.10 gears?) or does that addition only work on manual trans.. thanks! (please be patient, still learning!) and will the CAI + duel exhaust make my car sound like the v8? i would really like to get that kind of roar from my car :)! |
sorry bud, its just not going to sound like a v8, ever. I'ver head some that sound v8ish at idle but thats about it.
as for the Xcal, check with a SCT dealer to hook you up. and for gears 4.10's for automatic 3.73's for manual |
www.vmptuning.com can give you all you need when it comes to getting an x-cal2 setup for your mods, plus he loves v6 power.
