Just wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone. I have actually been on this site about every day for the past two weeks trying to learn some things about my stang. I am not a mechanic and don't know much about cars... actually I really don't know anything. Glad I can come here and get some info from "experts"

I have a V6 mustang with true dual exhaust. I went with the Flowmaster 40 Series and I am pleased with it. Not as loud as I would like it to be especially at idle but I am hoping that you guys can help me with that. Everything else on the car is stock right now. Saving up to do some things to it just don't know what. I am more for the "looks" rather than "performance" In the future I am planning on doing the grill delete(seems to be a big MUST on here), Mach1 chin spoiler, taillight tint, and of course wheels. And definitely willing to take some suggestions

Here are a few pics of my stang at the moment... took them this evening so kinda dark but I'll definitely get some out in the sun sometime soon

Welcome aboard!!

I'd say start with wheel's and lowering it.

Grimmz 04-04-2006 08:22 PM

thats a really clean lookin stang, yes the CHin spoiler and grill deletes are a MuST!, and the tints...if you want a REALLY nice sound your guna have to add some Long tube Headers, off road h-pipe, and some cams, that will give you the best IDLe sound on our sixers... What kind of rims did you have in mind...personally I like the Black with polished lips, either BUllits, or FR500's are great looking!

welcome again, and hope you have fun with that thing you got a good start with the exhaust and tint...

suthrnstang 04-06-2006 09:25 AM

Yeah I am actually a fan of the black bullits myself and that is prolly what I will end up with. I absolutely LOVE the fr500's but they are a lil pricey for me so maybe in the future for those but for now I will stick with the bullits. Call ne crazy but I am actually thinking of sticking with the 16's. I know most of you guys on here think bigger is better but I kinda like my 16's LOL Do you think they would look that horrible?

95bstallion 04-06-2006 01:02 PM

Clean looking sixer.

My honest opinion...YES they would look horrible, compared to what potential you have if you get a set of rims...

Sorry i worded that wrong... I am still plannin on getting the rims just in 16's. I found the black bullits on the OE Performance website that has them in that size. I DEF don't plan on keeping them stock... I would hate myself forever if I did LOL

Welcome aboard darlin! Nice lookin stang ya got there.

Yah, grill delete and chin spoiler, just about everyone seems to agree that the car looks better with them.

Eh... DS is a GT boy, he'll always be a GT boy. God damn GT boys. :shifty:

whitethunder46 04-06-2006 03:24 PM

If you lower it the 16's just would look, weird, I think. go with 17's you truley will not be disappointed. I think the bullets/fr500's are the same price in 17's here at MT if I'm not mistaken.

BTW thats one of the nicest "looking" exhaust's I've seen on a v6, great tips and polish. Welcome Aboard:beerchug:

Thanks for all the compliments on my stang... i really appreciate and I def appreciate all the opinions and suggestions. I am hard at making decisions so I always like a lil help.

My main reason for keeping my 16's was so I wouldnt have to wait longer to get tires since mine already has new ones. But I will prolly end up regrettin it if I don't go with 17's so that is prolly the road that I will choose.

Another ? I have is about getting a GT Hood scoop... I can just bolt one on my v6 hood and it still look right can't I? It isn't necessary for me to buy a GT hood right?

that is correct. You'd have to make holes in your current hood to get the scoop connected, but it will looks 100x better. Unfortunately, you wont get one for under $100 unless you find a great deal.

If I were you do as many things as you want UNTIL you are closer to needing new tires. You will regret keeping 16" size. Not only are they somewhat small, but you'll also be running a rather thin/skinny tire unlike if you have 17's.

And you're correct on the hood scoop.

I say you start a new thread, because you went off topic on hers.
