Quick Question

hey guys I was just wondering something. As most of you probably know its hard to not spin your tires every once in a while with a mustang:P so naturally I have no back tires anymore. So what I was thinking about maybe getting some bigger tires this time. Maybe a 265 or (if it will fit) a 275. These are on stock rims, 2002 GT with bullitts. I was looking around and I found out that goodyear doesnt make the stock eagles in that size. So what tire would you guys recommend mixing with my stock front tires, and what size. Or would you guys just recommend getting the same stock tires? I plan on selling the car come spring time but I wanted to have a little fun with thicker tires until then with my 3.73's. Thanks for any help.

a 275 will fit just fine with a little bit of a buldge to it it looks nice and fills the back out alot better plus it hookers better to.

I would say any tire you want would be fine on the back you just need one in 275/40/17 thats the size you want. and they dont make a 265 that i know of in 17" wheels.

what kind of tire would u recommend if i wanted to keep the tread pattern kinda the same so it wouldnt look stupid? :P

well if you ask me the stuck trtead sucks and is ugly, How many more miles do you think you will get out of those fronts? I would go ahead and get some tires from like discount tire, and put those on the front in 245 stock size move those goodyears to the backa nd kill them off sooner then replace them with the same tire you put up front just in 275/40/17.

Or just get 275/40/17 Nitto Drag Radials if you drag race alot, they look good with any tire.

my 275 Pirelli's grip real nice in rain. They're a nice all season tire.

Um wtf are you talking about.

I would recomend some falkens they are fialy cheap and are pretty good or i would say some Nitto 555 i like those alot also. I run those in the drag radial version.

I used to run Kuhmo Ecsta 712's in the front and they were 265's. With hat said, get 275's. They look the best. I have 275's on the front now, but I do have after-market rims.

Tire Rack, however, does not recommend the 275's on stock rims.

I used to have Falken's, Z512 or 512 or something like that. I really liked them a lot for my basically stock 02 GT. 245/45/17 all the way around. I would definately recommend them if you're not getting deep dish wheels.

I've got 275/40/17 Nitto 555r drags on my stock rims, for a quick swap before a race. I like them alot.

discount tire recomends 8 to 9 inch rim for 275/40/17

thats what i drive on every day. they work great when you happen to need extra traction on the street you know to get into traffic faster and safer of course.

Anybody got a close-up pic of a 275 on a stock rim? Just wondering how much "buldge" we're talking about.

Thanks!!! I may have to go with the 275's when I replace the stockers...

yeah teh budgle isnt that bad at all, and it really fills the back end out alot better. It really helps make mine look mean as i run dumps and it kind fills the cut outs in the rear bumper. Only thing is that you need to run them with only 20-24 psi to get them to wear evenly. But that doesnt effect your driving at all, mine handles just fine and i love them. I am on my 2nd pair now :)
