Need Advice....

Ok I have some really bald nitto 555R's on the car now. I want to put Mickey Thompsan ET streets on it but I want the tires to last and do well in the winter. I want to find a street tire that has a good tread life, but wont turn the car sideways when I get on it. I was thinking about some 315's but I dont really have the cash for the deep dish rims to go with them.
The nittos arent hooking up with my current setup, thats why I wanted the M/T's. I probably wont be going back to the track this year because I need slicks and the track is gonna close soon anyways. Should I keep the 275 width or go back to 245? I need them to do well in the winter because my car will slide all over the road on a cold day with the drag radials. It almost got sideways yesterday just passing a car on the interstate. My limit is about $400 for the two rear tires. Would control arms give better traction with street tires?

Ive got pirelli pzero nero m+s on mine and drove in the winter with them. they are really great tires and the only time i got stuck was sitting in a foot of snow in my driveway waiting to get out. Of course you are going to slide a little but you have a rwd sports car with torque. I also goto the track on these tires and they DO turn sticky like drag radials if you spin em once or twice before each run. I was dropping from 1300-1500 rpm, and getting no squaking off the line with 3.90 gears. I really dont worry about hydroplaning in the rain with these either, they really cut the water away to plant your tires on the road. They have an AA rating for traction which is as good as you will get, and a 420 rating for tread wear. Ive got about 11,000 miles on mine with a good 35+ runs at the drag strip with em and they are still looking great.

If I were to suggest any street tire for you for an everyday/winter car, these would be it.

What about the BFG G Force KD? I heard those are killer street tires.

If you go with street radials, you wont get anywhere in the snow. You need a high performance year round tire.

just get drag radials and a set of v6 rims for the back in the winter.

ps you know that walbro pump isnt made for returnless fuel systems right?

I dont want this thread to go the wrong way but that fuel pump works fine with the returnless style system. Noone can convince me that it doesnt work. Ive had that pump on there for about 6 months now with absolutely no problems. It works great. My mechanic told me it has worked on several returnless style systems he has worked with. Im very pleased with it so far.
