Sizing Issue
So I have the stock 2000 GT wheels and tires on my car.
The tires are 245/45-17 I'm looking to buy rims, but do not want to get new tires, just reuse the old ones. What size wheel am I looking to get? I was looking around and it says that that tire would fit best on a 17x8 wheels. Can I put them on 17x9 without problems, or stick to 17x8? Are there any other options I'm looking at? |
You will be very, very limited in wheel sizes that those tires will fit and look right. You should save up more and get tires and wheels at the same time.

My guess is, your 245's would work on a 9 inch wide wheel, BUT no larger. I have 255's on my 18x9s, then 275s on the 10s out back. But I agree, wait this winter out and when warmer weather starts to come, id go for a whole new set of everything, and keep your stockers for when the winter comes again.

I had 245's on a 9" rim and they were fine. Obviously its better to have 275's on them, but if you want the wheels now and the tires later. Go for it.

a 9" wide wheel is gonna be the max you can put a 245 on.
