Deep Dish Film Issue

I have a set of Deep Dish Black Bullit 18x9 on my 06 GT. There is a film on the brushed chrome trim ring that is peeling off. Is this supposed to be there? Will I damage the finish by removing it? Pretty unsightly right now, please help! Thanks

Its clear coat and it should not be peeling off. How long have you had them and how do you take care of them.

mine is cracked and peeling...I have seen this on a lot of these replica rims.

thats why I have went and gotten quotes for powder coating. Best so far was 50 for coating 20 for chemical stripping per wheel.

Dustin, I put them on in July. Got them from American Muscle. I run the car throught he touchless wash once in a while mostly wash by hand. Would that take the clearcoat off? It affects all 4 wheels.

I got mine from AM and have had them for like..2 years? Mine are already powder coated i believe, and mine look fine atm. And yeah its probably a clear coat and should definatly not be happening.

Right. The black powder coating is fine there's nothing peeling off of it, it's just the polished ring aroung the perimeter. I'm going to call AM tomorrow and see what they suggest. The problem started about a month after I got them.

Mine are starting to crack a bit but have had them for 4 plus years.
