Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3
 

Are these any good tires? I found someone selling them for $350 for all 4 tires with 85% thread on them. It's a 4 hours and 30 minutes of a drive or so. There is a guy going up there from Portland (here where I am located), but why should I trust the guy with my money? He leaves tomarrow. Just wanted opinion on the tires, thank you!

I've spent a few years working in tire shops and learned to hate goodyear tires. I haven't seen many of the GS-D3's but, almost every other Eagle F1 I have come across has cupped or worn badly.
I spent 200 on 4 Goodyear NCT-5 run flats that were new car take offs. (someone bought a new BMW and wanted all season tires instead of summer only) They've got 10K or so miles on them and are at 3/32's. It didn't save me any money since I now have to spend at least 400 on something else that will last longer than a year.
Those tires may handle rain better than mine but I'll bet they're just as noisy, ride just as shitty, and wear out as fast as mine did with 100% tread.
I looked at tire racks reviewer ratings of the GS-D3's and mine, and my tires have a higher review rating. AND THEY SUCK. Unless you are trying to buy an extreme performance tire that costs an extreme price, I would spend just a bit more and get new tires that have a higher treadwear rating and avoid handing your money to someone hoping they make the 9 hour round trip for you.

Yeah I wasn't to sure about them. I don't know much about tires, well I some what do, but I've only ever had Toyo Proxes 4, which are what I have now. I love em, but then again I haven't experince enough. I need tires for racing, but all season too. As you can see I have some good thread, but there is two tires that have problems and a 3rd one with a nail in it. Ugh

What's your opinion on the Toyo Proxes 4

I haven't had any experience with Toyo tires but from what I've seen online, they have had good reviews. I've found them for around 146 a tire.
Tire rack has BF Goodrich G-Force t/a KDWS for that price. I had them on my fox body in a 245/45/17. Absolutely awesome tire in the wet stuff. Never ran into any snow so I don't know about that but they are supposed to be good for it. They have a treadwear rating of 400 which is better than the 300 of the Toyos but the problem is, even though all tires have that rating as part of the UTQG system, its not a uniform rating between different manufacurers. A 400 from BF Goodrich may be a 40K mile tire, but Bridgestone has a truck tire with a 360 rating that is a 60K mile tire.The higher the number the better , but remember it does mean different things for different companies.
If you like them then stick with them. They look like nice tires. I have always preferred BFG or Michelin but Michelins cost a mint and they're sport tires wear fast. But, the highest quality tire you can get. Michelin owns BF Goodrich so they make good stuff. Haven't noticed many funny wear issues with them.
I am past my young, haul ass and handle curves on the edge of control phase(well...mostly) and I need something that lasts and it has to handle rain like a champ and the unpredictable snow. Thats why i didnt save money on my current tires b/c for the first time in several years, it snowed enough to accumulate and I couldn't get out of my parking spot for 2 days. That cost me a day of work and the $200+ that went with it. So those $200 tires cost me $400 so far and a few gray hairs trying to creep home last week in a rain storm. Rain that I did 80+ in when I had the BFG KDWS tires.
If you need an all season tire be sure you get it. Look on tire rack and read reviews and look at the costs. I think its a great site to compare but they don't have the proxes 4s on there.
The better the tires are at gripping the road, the faster they wear so you have to find a happy place between cost and performance, unless you're loaded.
BTW, nice looking wheels. I have a '95 V6 body with a GT drivetrain transplant and the '99 Cobra wheels. They only cost me 115 a piece back when my uncle's shop was getting dealer cost on FRPP stuff from the local Ford dealer. I didn't want to shell out the money for the Cobra R's at the time.
