Need Help Selecting a Wheel
OK - So I am pretty much ready to drop a couple G's (max w/ tires like 2200 OTD). I am looking at tirerack.com and have it narrowed down to a few options. The question at hand is: Do I go with staggard 20's (9.5-10 in the back) like a 275-35-20 or do I drop the car (which I can have done professionally for $250) and put 19's?
I don't have pics of my car at hand but it is a Redfire 2005 GT Coup. Also windows will soon be tinted to 5% so a black wheel isn't out of the question. A couple of my fav's so far: http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand http://www.americanmuscle.com/shelby...ack-20-10.html Or any other suggestions would be appreciated. Want to stand out a bit which is why I have avoided anything too typical. Thanks, |
all are kind of gross, but last one i cant stand.

What about this with the 5% tint? and possiblly the GT stripe? |
What year stang is it?
2005
I would stick with 20s.
Are you not a fan of lowering the car? My consideration for the 19'2 with the 45 tire was that the ride would be a little smoother, problem is the gap in the wheel well which is why I thought of lowering it.

Those Cragar's would look sweet!
18 or 20's I think 18 with a 2" drop would be nice or 20's with a 1 or 1.5
Sorry but Cragars look like a bucket of yuck.
They aren't awesome but they are better than the ones he posted
Sweet! ^^

I think all the rims aare Ugly
The First two you posted look awesome. All of these guys are crazy, they just want you to be like everyone else and get the same old boring ass rims as they have. I think the Black Fontana's would be sweet personally.
Either way, you will need to put some kind of a drop on the car and most likely with anything bigger than 18" will need a bumpsteer kit. |
My vote goes to the first picture.
If you are looking at wheels with those kind of price tags you can't go wrong with shelby razors

im definitely liking those black fontana's. but that red ring is throwing me off. would it match your paint color?
If you think you can pull off the red on the first rim, and don't want to go with a Mustang specific rim, then the Black fontanna is what I'd choose. I actually wouldn't choose any of thoes for my car but if I saw them on a Mustang I wouldn't think it would be horrible.

The first one looks pretty fucking badass IMO. On a red S197, sweet.
The Cragars look good too, Don't listen to steeda, he's got lame cobra wheels. lol |

OK - The decision has been made, I am going with the above linked Zenetti Five's in Chrome (not sure if they even do another finish). I love the wheel personally. The Black Fontana's were a close second and yeah the red ring probably would have matched my redfire closely and if not it could have been painted. Anyway I am also lowering the car with some Steeda Springs (as well as adding the bumpsteer kit). I have a question: I have a guy doing a lot of work for me at a local shop in Tampa, he has quoted 300 in labor (including the alignment) for lowering the car. Is this a reasonable rate? It seems high to me $200 to install springs and $100 for the alignment. What do you think? |
Note:
Springs $259 Bumpsteer $149 Labor $300 |
go with FR500's
post pics of you car. it'll help us help you. oh, and i advise lowering the car first. springs, shocks, CC plates will be a good start. then some sub-fram connectors, then control arms and bumpsteer kit.
I will post pics as soon as the work is done maybe before and after for fun. Thanks for your advice it is appreciated.
I am also thinking for my next mod I will add a hood maybe the cervini concept that will leave me with the option of adding a functionality kit later (not sure if it is needed as I have a solid FIPK). But the hood needs changed out for looks if nothing else. I currently have the factory hood. |
