Sumitomo All-Season tires

Anyone have any info on these tires? I'm still not sure what I'm gonna do. I don't really want to get all-season tires but my dad says I should. I live in Northern VA. we don't get a whole bunch of snow in the winter, but we do get some.
I'm getting new tires and wheels. So what I think I might do is get regular tires mounted on my new wheels, then later on closer to winter get the all-seasons and mount them on my old wheels.
I still want to know how the Sumotomo all-seasons handle in the snow.
Thanks bunches!

How much are you willing to spend? I went with all season tires because I had to deal with all kinds of weather being in Chicago half the year and Michigan the other half. I went with Michelin pilot sport A/S one of the best all season tires out there. They are pretty pricey but I would recommend them not only for traction but also tire life. I had them put on about a year and a half ago and still excellent tread left. Many cheaper tires wear quickly. Can't speak for Sumitomo though because I've never bought them. I'm sure someone else will chime in, just thought I would give my .02

If you're talking about the Sumitomo HTR+.. I have a pair on the rear. Haven't seen any snow on them yet.. but they don't seem that different from the summer tires. And like Dave said, the Sumi's wear quickly, and that's a fact. That's why they cost under a 100$. If you're going to drive the car year round and are worried about the weather...I'd say spend the money on just a good set of all-season tires and stick with those.

If your going as far as to have 2 sets of tires for the different seasons I would suggest getting full snow/ice tires. They will grip alot better in the cold stuff than the all seasons.
