BFG Drag Radial

Where can i buy the really good BFG Drag radials? I need two of them and i need the widest possible size for my stock rims. I found em online but the widest they had availabe was like 225!!!!! So i know they gotta make em wider than that. Where can i get some 275's drag radials for my stock back two wheels?

What drag radial hooks the best? I've heard Mickey thompsons are the best is this true or are there better ones?

MT is the best DR. Dont expect it to last long. Then BFG, then Nittos.

I had BFG drags on mine and they were great!

Nitto 555r has the longest life of drag radials with BFG behind them.

3V2000GT, what do you mean you got BFG d/r's and they dont hook?? How much air pressure are you running?? If you dropped it down to 10-12psi....you will hook trust me...I launch on the bottle @4500 and leave maybe 5 feet of black.....and tell me they dont hook. Maybe if your running at like 20psi of course they aint gonna hook, but ride with them at 15psi and you wont have a problem. I drive everyday on mine at about 15psi and no problems at all.

BTW i've had my BFG's for a couple months now and they are almost slicks...

Ill be honest, I forgot about taking out air, dumb me! Ill try this tommorrow and see what happens.

If it's your 1st time launchin on DR's then dont launch too high untill you get used to it unless your rearend is built. Otherwise you'll start hearing funny noises and stuff after lol. I'm launchin hard on a stock rear and it's holding up ok, but not too much longer.

Anyway yea try dropping the tire pressure to 12psi 1st and see how she hooks, if it feels like it's spining, go back and look for your marks and see how long they are. I thaught mine was spinning alot more than it was, but it was the tire wrinkle that i was feeling.

This isnt directed at anyone...

Just because a tire doesnt hook doesnt mean they suck. Its probably because you dont know how to drive, or your suspension isnt set up correctly. Either way I still prefer slicks over DR's.

I have heard that in testing of DRs, 18-20 psi is optimal. I run 15 psi in my Mickey Thompsons at the track and 26-28 psi on the street. It really depends on how hot you are getting them. And with new tires, a big smoky burnout will be needed the first few times to work the oils and chemicals out of them.

And if you are feeling "tire wrinkle" in a radial, you must be making huge horsepower!

whats a good psi on a daily driven 342 makin ~400 rwhp riding on 03 cobra wheels with 315 nitto 555r's in the back?

Blk02stang 10-28-2006 03:11 PM

Yoshi, I'de drive around with them around 15-18psi. I drove on mine for the longest time at that psi and no problems at all. Altho recently i forgot to air them back up and went for about 3 weeks on 12psi lol....cornering was fun!!
