Tire size for 18x9.5 rims

Hi, I was helping my girlfriend order rims for her 2005 GT. We ordered her the chrome GT 500 rims and are 18x9.5. We also ordered 255-45-18 BFG KDW2. I went with this size because we saw a bunch of mustangs at a show recently with this size and it look really good. However I didn't really ask what size the rims were, but I've only found the GT 500 rims in 9.5. So my question is will these tires fit these rims? I found a tire guide that says that's the max, but I don't want them to look weird. Thx for the :helpsmili

i have 18x9 bullits mounted on 265/35/18 in the front and 18x10 deep dish bullits mounted on 285/35/18 in the rear...so i'm guessing those tires will work just fine...however, i prefer larger tires in the back so maybe swap those 255's for something in the 285-315 in the rear...i think it'll give the stang a much more sinister stance :punk:

I Agree!!

I agree about it looking better, but the cars we saw with 275's stuck out a little too far and she didn't like them. Plus she wants to be able to rotate them. She didn't want to go over the top, just add a little beefier stance since the stock ones look like donuts. I appreciate the info so far, I just want to make sure they fit and she doesn't have to send them back for a different size since she ordered everything online.

If anybody has these rims I'd like to see some pics. Thx :beerchug:

I was just wondering what size wheel you need for the
315's? I have a set of 275's mounted on my stock rims and they work just fine, but I need to get fatter tires, and need to know the right wheel width for what I want.
