How big can I go?

I have an 01 GT with Ford chrome bullitts. I have the 245/45 17's on them. How much of a wider tire can fit on these 17" rims? Any suggestions from you guys? Thanks, Mark M :beerchug:

If they're stock size, 17x8... then the widest tire you want is a 275.
If they're 17x9's... then you can go up to a 295

Yes, the're the stock size. Some 275's in the rear might look good with the 245's in the front. Is there much of a difference in width? Mark M :shifty:

If you have the same size in front and rear rims than stay with the same size tire so you can rotate, Just my opinion.

IMO to be safe go with a 265/40/17 that will look good.
A 275 will have some major buldging of the sidewall

I ran Nitto 275's for a long time and liked the way they looked on the stock rims. They're a smaller tire (for the size) and look perfect.

Nitto's do run small.

Nofire did you run 555 street tires or 555 DR's?

I've had both. I had 555's on the stock rims (275's) and 315/35 DR's on 10.5 rims. The 555's bulged out on the stock rims and the DR's looked perfect.

How'd you like the 555? I never hear anyone talking about the 555 street tires and I would think they would be more popular.
