Torque Arm or Koni Adjustables?

My parents want to buy me a college graduation gift. I would like to ask for either a torque arm or Koni SA dampers. My dampers arn't blown, but my springs are a little much for them so I am being underdampened. I would like to finally come close to finishing my rear suspension with the torque arm though and I suspect that it might provide a bigger improvement than the Koni shocks and struts. The Tq. Arm is less expensive by about $200, but needs to be welded in and installed and there are often costs associated with it which would probably be paid by me. The Konis are plug and play but since they are more expensive upfront, it would probably be a longer time before I could buy them myself.

I say the Konis. I'd prefer to get the spring/shock setup out of the way and done. And like you said, its more expensive and more of a plug and play thing.

I feel like the torque arm would be something that I'd do last.

Even though I already have Illuminas that are working decently, just a little jittery on bumps? The part I'd have issue with is putting in new dampers and not really improve the car much.

I could understand that. What you explained is the exact reason I haven't changed the ones on the GT. I'd hate to spend the money and it just be "mehhh".

Idk. Torque boxes would give a more noticeable more difference if I was to guess, but unless you can weld/paint everything yourself it'd be tough to get it as a present and then have to spend money on it lol.

Are you recommending torque boxes? I am considering a Torque arm. Welding the cross brace and cutting the exhaust and rewelding would be the most likely expenses, however much that would cost.

I think the Tq. arm would give the biggest change to the car overall. I've never been in a mustang with a tq. arm though.

Torque Arm. No question. Shocks and struts aren't even near capable of the handling upgrade you get from pitching those upper control arms. Really man... you're going to love it.

Camaro's have TA's. It's a little different feeling. Don't get the super heavy springs. If you have rear CO then 275# is fine with a sway bar upgrade.

EDIT: Depending on what kind of jitter it is, you're probably seeing some bushing wobble as the 4 link gets into bindy territory. You're one of the few here that races enough to really diagnose your own thing though. If it's random, it's usually bushings.

I already have the 415-515 lb conventional TA springs installed, in preperation for the TA and in the mean time to better match my C/Os. I'm pretty sure I am going to go with the TA just becuase I have read so many good things about a proper 3 link setup and I want to experience that ASAP. The desire for better dampeners comes from autocross. I've always heard that good dampners can make or break a car. Sam Strano uses Koni so I want to also, and I think it will help the carbut not as much as a TA will. I'd like better quick transional (tight sections on a course) characterisics from the car, which I feel like the Illuminas get overpowered by the springs in thoes situations.
