removing the isolators

I want to remove the front isolators and maybe the rear ones too, to lower it a bit more. Is it pretty simple to pop them out and how do i go about doing so. I know it will be a tad bit rougher ride but i dont drive it enough to really care about that.

I'm interested too. How much lower would it be?

i have pics to show you how much lower it makes it. jsut a sec and i'll post them.

Wow! How'd you get em out? Take long? Could you do it on stock springs?

V6_Mustang_Power 08-23-2008 09:11 PM

ha, the first time i did the springs was the first time i even did any suspension work. i did the springs, shocks&struts, Caster Camber Plates, and the Steeda HD rear sway bar. shop told me it was 700 bucks to have the mdo it. i said F that how hard could it possibly be? well it was challenging but i got i was pretty confident and got it done :D . took me a couple days but hey, it was a learning experince and such. i read up asmuch as i could before i did it and got the job done :). the last time i did the front springs was when i tookout the bottom iso's and it took me 30mins to do both sides with just basic handtools and jackstands and a floor jack. when i tookout the back top and bottom ones it was a bit complicated but it didnt take over 40-50mins to get the job done.

so its a pretty straight forward project. Did you notice a difference in ride quality or anything?

V6_Mustang_Power 08-23-2008 11:30 PM

well i alos installed rear sway bar, shocks n struts and C/C plates. but after all the iso's were out the ride was a little righer but not that much really.

v6 power- think you could summarize what the steps were to removing the spring and spring isolators? Do the brakes need to be removed as well? im a noob at it so i wanna be prepared lol

V6_Mustang_Power 08-24-2008 02:55 PM

do you have stock springs? lol. just wondering. but if you look at the AM site @the installs, look at the H&R SS Spring install. i followed that and that's how you do it.
